I decided to take my father to Royal Lytham GC for a surprise 60th Birthday Trip, we had amazing weather for the days golfing. We both really enjoyed the course & condition was really good.
But unfortunately I wasn’t disappointed in a couple things, it was nearly 30 degrees and we were not allow in the clubhouse or upstairs because we wearing smart golf shorts on, that was disappointing and not welcoming. Also I believe when you are paying a Greenfee over £200 you should receive some type of welcome gift and so unfortunately I felt left down & disappointed with the customer service .
But still

One of the great experiences in golf, from the course, to the clubhouse ... and also the members who made us very welcome.
A slightly more quirky front 9 with great strategy involved, is followed by a slightly more straightforward back 9 where the ball needs to be threaded between the numerous fairway pot bunkers. The iconic 18th makes for a great finish in front of the resplendent clubhouse.
Take time to breathe in the history in the clubhouse as well.
We were made to feel very welcome from the pro shop, to the hall porter, to the clubhouse and bar.

A big huge fat thank you to Royal Lytham and St Anne’s GC.
Had a tee time for 2 booked this morning and my father couldn’t play due to knackering his back at Birkdale yesterday and they graciously gave a full refund for him, whilst he just walked around with me.
Course in amazing condition, staff from the hall porter to the waitress’, to the pro shop staff all so friendly, also some very friendly members that I met. Food was sensational afterwards. £150 for a green fee here in a October before they renovate is an absolute steal.

Really great links golf course. Stayed at the dormy house just next to the club house, and would really recommend this and play the course for two rounds. It's a true challenge with a lot of bunkers, so nice to have a second go the day after. Friendly staff, and good food in the club house restaurant. Will definately come back one day.

Exceptional golf course with a lot of history. Hole numbers 8 and 18 are the keyholes. What disturbed me are the overloaded paper baskets on the tees, it should not actually occur at this top spot. Definitely go visit the clubhouse which is full of memorabilia. Find George Lowe's showcase from 1900 and admire the design study of his golf clubs. I'm sure someone will find these designs again and build new clubs.
