Designed by Harry Colt Blackpool North Shore was established in 1904, and has been an Open Championship qualifying venue in the past with promising 'fast undulating greens'. Blackpool North Shore Golf Club is a challenging 18 hole par 71 course, measuring 6,444 yards playing off the white tees. This course was home to the first fund raising event of The Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme in 1963.
It was an international match - Britain v Rest of the World, which attracted many of the golfing greats such as Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player & Peter Allis to name but a few, all competing for The Prince Phillip Trophy, under the watchful eye of HRH Prince Phillip himself. We are very proud of our Club and would love to give you a tour of our facilities.

Together with a group of like minded individuals, they surveyed an area of 62 acres around The Knowle and found it to be suitable for a 9-hole golf course. It had made a profit of 50 and was using a cottage in Cornwall Avenue (with a thatched roof) as their first clubhouse. A more permanent arrangement ensued with the building of the clubhouse at 62 Cornwall Avenue until a move to its present home in 1928.

The course is in great condition but the rough has been cleared which makes some of the fairway definitions hard to make out. Great welcome in the well stocked Pro shop which advertised my home club of Richmond N Yorks as a reciprocal was a welcome touch, but to find it closed at 2.30 no food in the clubhouse on a Friday afternoon was a disappointment.

Great golf course wonderfull selection of holes. My favorate was the par3 7th .Colt classic holes making the most of the rolling ground.
Having never played the course before I found a few of the holes were lacking marker posts for lines off the tees as the ground raised up from the tees whick made them blind tee shots, hence 4 stars and not 5. Would love to play it again now that we know which lines to take. Just such a great golf course.

Looks can be very deceiving! I played this course last week with a friend of mine, a day prior to playing Lytham St Annes. When you see the golf course from the pro shop, it look open, inviting and somewhat of an easy course. That's where you're wrong!
Once you actually get on the fairway and see how thick the rough is in between the holes, it will make you hit the ball straight! There are a lot of holes where you use the black and white aiming markers as the course is perhaps hillier than first thought, without being mountainous!
There are some great holes on this course and if you like a golfing

I played this course on an October day: the weather was fair and the course in good condition. I was given good instruction at the pro shop, as this was my first visit. The only real problem was the pace of play: a two ball in front of me were having to wait for every shot: from the first tee onwards!!
In the back nine, the pair in front allowed… the two ball through at the 12th hole. I stood back and let them play the 12th and watched from the 12th tee while they took five drives from the 13th tee - and so it continued to the end of the round, sadly.
However, I enjoyed the layout of the
