Bearhugs Nursery
As a parent your choice of childcare is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. At Bearhugs you can be sure your child will be in a safe, loving, caring environment with people who love looking after and teaching young children. We have a high ratio of staff to children which means we can provide a safe, supportive, stimulating and fun environment in which your child can explore and discover the world.
Services
Bearhugs is owned by Sonia Elton who founded the company in 2011, after taking over the small council run creche that her sons, Eddie and Henry attended at the time. This facility was to be closed by the council and Sonia felt that is was such a loss that she invested in it, and kept it open, the nursery was based at the former Horncastle College.
Opened in 2011, Bearhugs Horncastle has continued to go from strength to strength. Originally based in a small port-a-cabin we quickly expanded into a much larger brick building before finally finding our secure home here at Phoenix Lodge! The building is a beautifully converted bungalow. We can cater for up to 12 babies in our cosy living room and messy play area.
Opened in 2013, Bearhugs Tattershall has firmly established itself in the village of Tattershall next to Coningsby. The building is a beautifully converted house. Each age range has their own dedicated room, and we continue to keep our numbers low to offer the highest quality education and care. We can cater for up to 12 babies in our cosy living room and messy play area.
Becky is responsible for the everyday running of the setting, ensuring the nursery is offering the highest levels of care and education. Becky makes sure that children, families, and staff are supported throughout their time with us. Becky is the first port of call should you need to discuss any concerns and is responsible for making sure the nursery meets all the standards outlined by the Early Years Foundation stage and OFSTED.
Here at Bearhugs, the children have enjoyed sharing some arts and crafts activities during our Parent/Carer sessions. The baby room had fun exploring 'Gloop'; Little Bears followed on their Autumn theme by making pictures with painted hand prints; and Big Bears. These activities are what we do with our children on a weekly basis and something that can be easily created at home too.

To all staff, My daughter loves the activities that Bearhugs do to engage little minds. She loves messy play and painting which Bearhugs aren't afraid to do!! Bearing in mind she likes messy play I always really appreciate that her face is wiped clean, hands are washed and she is cared for in a professional way. The meals are lovely home cooked and she eats sometimes a second portion! And Tapestry online provides pictures and they are fab to see!!! Thank you 😊 x

My 3 year old daughter has attended bearhugs since April this year. She started in little bears and has transitioned very well into big bears. She has made lots of friends and is very happy to go. The staff are brilliant, they give you a handover everyday and keep you very updated with what they have been up to via the tapestry online learning journal. Bearhugs has a home from home feel to it which helped with ny daughter settling there very well and very quickly. My daughterbroke her leg (not at nursery i may add) not long after starting bearhugs and was in a full leg cast. The staff made sure
