Red Hen is a wonderful day nursery on a working farm in rural Lincolnshire. We are open for children from 0-5 years and are lucky to have private access to our own extensive outdoor areas. We are happy to offer outdoor visits again; conditions apply so please phone for details. Please see our virtual tour and please phone us if you would like further information about our setting.
THE GRANARY area was set up in 2019 with funding as below. The Granary is now our entrance for the nursery so parents and visitors can talk safely to us at the Granary office. Drop-off for children is via this entrance to their respective bubble group outdoors. Exit is via our one-way system outdoors.

Services
It is our aim to make each family's time at Red Hen an enjoyable fulfilling experience, even at this unprecedented time. We value every child's uniqueness, nurturing individuality as well as social skills with all ages. We are also proud of the skills that our children take with them when they leave for school.
Julie is Manager of Red Hen and has been here since our opening in 2004. Julie has many qualities that make her an awesome Manager; she is friendly, knowledgeable and qualified, organised, and has a passion for her role, making Red Hen an amazing place for children and staff - and she has a wonderful laugh that makes us all smile!
Our curriculum and everything we do at Red Hen links into the EYFS, helping us to support children's learning and development and evaluate their progress. Red Hen's farm setting, dedicated staff with a good sense of fun, fresh home cooke food, where the children are involved in preparing meals and a good dose of playing in the fresh air are just a few of the things that make Red Hen a unique learning environment and a fine place to spend the day.
Red Hen upholds the saying 'there is no such thing as bad weather, we just need to dress appropriately'. Children (and staff!) are outside the majority of their time at Red Hen - whatever the weather! We have fully trained Forest School practitioners so cooking on a campfire and using real-tools are integral to the children's experiences here.
We are proud of our award-winning good food and have won many accolades. Helping with meals and snacks is part of everyday life at Red Hen and we are lucky to have added experiences from soil to plate here in our extensive grounds. The children especially love harvesting, preparing and eating the produce they have helped to grow.
