With Figgate Park and Portobello beach on our doorstep we ensure the kids get out and about as much as possible. Day trips are also a regular activity. Accommodating children between 3 months and 5 years we have dedicated rooms for babies, toddlers and pre-school with the ability to play together in the garden.
We look after children from 7:30am to 6pm and are proud to offer home cooked lunches - many of our garden grown vegetables are used in our healthy snacks. We have two nurseries serving the East of Edinburgh - the Rocking Horse and the Seabeach - which have some of the most experienced childcare teams in Edinburgh.

Services
A 10% Discounted rate will apply to the eldest child's fees for siblings using 12 sessions or more per week. A 100 refundable deposit is required to reserve a place within the nursery. This will be refunded once your child has attended the nursery and one month's notice has been given in writing informing us of your child's last day at nursery.
Children will be offered "Free Time" in the nursery to allow them to settle with minimal distress to themselves and their families. All parents will be offered to spend time with their child within the room. Spending time chatting with staff and observing your child at play.
The staff member will then arrange daily visits (a minimum of 4) within a 2 week settling in period increasing the time to a maximum of 2 hours at various times of the day for your child to gain experience and familiarity with our routine.Whilst staff will take care with your child's belongings please be aware that items may become very dirty, shoes may scuff and items may get lost/ misplaced.

Yesterday the Rocking Horse Explorers took a walk to the shops to get more supplies for messy play. Of course as soon as we stepped into the shop the children noticed the pumpkins and pointed to them so there was only one thing to do, we bought a pumpkin.
We then went to have a look at the Halloween isle, the children picked up a variety of novelty decorations but were full of smiles and laughter with a flashing light wand and halloween buckets which we also bought and brought back to nursery.Watch out for observations about the children's exploration with the pumpkin and of course the messy play when we come to carve it.
