The Bear Necessities Day Nursery
Bear Necessities is a friendly family-owned day nursery, in a peaceful and spacious farmland setting close to transport links between Bicester and Kidlington. Originally a term-time nursery school when it opened twenty four years ago, the nursery is situated in former farm buildings and is purpose designed to create a welcoming and safe environment for children.

Bear Necessities started offering year-round care in 2004 and now caters for 58 children aged 3 months to 5 years. We are open 8am-6pm, 51 weeks per year (we are closed on public holidays) and supported by a highly qualified and dedicated team. The nursery prides itself on its family atmosphere, thriving outdoor activity, and stimulating environment.
Services
On enquiry about a place for your child at Bear Necessities Nursery, admin/management will advise current session availability based on the age of the child, room capacity and the staff to child ratios. Availability is given on a 'first come, first served' basis and will change regularly due to children joining the setting all year round.
All meals are cooked on the premises, in our own kitchen using fresh ingredients wherever possible and providing a healthy and nutritious balance. Menus run on a four week rota system to ensure choice and variety. The menus are reviewed often by the children, staff and parents and they will adapt with the change in seasons.
We strongly believe that outdoor play is vital for young children's health and well-being and children are able to move freely between indoor and outdoor areas throughout the day, . The building is surrounded by generous space and we have several safely enclosed outdoor areas, consisting of a main outdoor area at the back of the building and a dedicated garden for the younger children at the front of the building.
We wish to say a huge THANK YOU to all the staff at Bear Necessities. Our children have gained so much from being part of this wonderful nurtured nursery family and environment. They have felt they have belonged, made so many friends and this key time has set them up ready for their next chapter.

The staff are so caring and nurturing maintaining a balance of structure, play, learning and care, and have communicated and worked alongside us to help provide and assist our children's needs in every way.We needed a nursery that felt like home to home with genuine care, empathy, understanding and FUN! Thank you so much!
From the A34, take the B430 exit and follow signs to Wendlebury. After a few hundred metres you will pass the main entrace to Weston Park Farm, shortly afterwards you will see the signpost to the nursery entrance. Please note - Our Postcode may direct you to the farm next door in which case the nursery is the next entrance.

I really can not thank Bear Necessities nursery enough. Today was my daughters first day in the baby room and I have come away feeling more reassured and happy than ever! I felt so anxious before her starting but I have been made to feel so at ease! It’s so evident that my daughter has had a wonderful experience and that is down to the staff at… Bear necessities! Thank you to every single one of you that has made such a huge milestone become so special and smooth going! It’s so lovely being able to comfortably leave my daughter and not having to worry! Thank you all so much!

Our daughter only started at Bear Necessities 4 months ago but already she absolutely loves it there. I couldn’t be happier with the quality of care she receives, the excellent and loving staff, the new skills she’s learnt and the amount of outdoor play she has! I’m so happy we chose Bear Necessities!
