We pride ourselves on being problem solvers so that our clients know they have someone to call on who is there to advise and support, often during stressful and difficult times in their life. They can be confident that they are dealing with a long established Firm with experience and a wide range of services.

We have a number of offices in different locations but, we wish to help clients wherever they live. It may be an over used phrase but, we do adopt a team approach within the Firm, drawing on the expertise of an experienced and qualified group of people who work with clients to help and advise with their private or business problems.
Services
Court of Protection: If a person becomes unable to manage their affairs and has not taken the precaution of preparing an LPA a person can be appointed (known as a Deputy) under an Order of the Court. We can help with the extensive paperwork and on occasion when required can apply to act as Deputy. Probate & Trusts: When relatives or friends die and you need advice, we offer a sympathetic and comprehensive service.
Combines the role of receptionist along with secretarial work for Angela Kennedy who deals chiefly with private client work including Court of Protection, Lasting Powers of Attorney and probate. Joined the Firm in 1974 became a partner in 1982 and was senior partner from 2002 to 2017 when he retired from the partnership.
It is so easy to make excuses for not making a Will or not keeping it up to date. Yet great comfort can be obtained from knowing that arrangements have been made to ensure that a person's wishes are known to take effect when they are no longer here. The firm offers help and guidance and a comprehensive service to ensure that a person's wishes are correctly incorporated within a valid Will.
Colin Burdett studied Law at Sheffield University and is a Solicitor and a Notary Public. A Notary verifies, authenticates and records deeds, documents and facts for cross-border transactions, performing a vital function in international trade and business.

Having qualified in the latter capacity through a combination of a Degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in Notarial Practice, awarded by the University of Cambridge, Colin is one of the relatively few people (probably less than 400) who have become a Notary Public via this route. As a Solicitor, Colin practises as Senior Partner in the firm of Milford & Dormor, which has offices in Axminster, Chard, Ilminster, Seaton and Hemyock (sub-office).
A FREE initial interview is available on request whatever your legal problem. If you need further help we can provide an estimate of fees, in writing, or details of our charging rates. In litigation matters an hourly charge is often quoted and this can also be the case for other types of work although we would normally prefer to quote a fixed fee or fee based on per centage value of assets being dealt with in relation to Probate matters.

Can highly recommend this solicitors, so professional and nothing is too much trouble for them, we had Dee Fazio, dealing with our late father's estate, and even though we live near London Heathrow, she did everything she could, to reduce the amount of journeys we had to make to Somerset, milford & dormer solicitors made our lives so easy, at such an awful time. And I have to mention the delightful receptionist, who I spoke to several times, keep up the good work, such a lovely and happy person... Thankyou.... We are forever grateful.

Thank you so much Dee Fazio & team. Made things much easier for us, at a very difficult time. Dee arranged & organised everything, from an appointment to register our Dads death , to arrangements for the swear. All this was done at short notice , due to limited time and a long journey to Somerset for us. Dee explained everything clearly to us & as many times as we needed. Nothing was too much trouble & no question too small. Highly recommended, we can't thank you enough.
