At Cherry Tree Cottages, we have two warm traditional stone cottages, set in two acres of natural heather and woodland garden, with extensive views over the South Pennine countryside. We are in a beautiful country location, just 15 minutes from both Halifax and Huddersfield, with easy access to all West Yorkshire towns and attractions.
We live adjacent to the cottages in the main house, Cherry Tree House, and are usually at home to welcome you and help with any queries. Both our cottages are pet friendly. Dogs are welcome, and there are good footpath and bridleway walks right from the doorstep. Our two cottages, Cherry Tree Cottage and Heather Bank Cottage are awarded Four Stars by VisitBritain.

Services
This two-bedroomed 19th century stone cottage has been recently refurbished and redecorated throughout. All rooms are South facing. The main bedroom is light and airy, with extensive views over the Black Brook valley. In the second bedroom, there are full sized adult single beds, which have been built into the room in a partially overlapping tiered arrangement.
Heather Bank Cottage has been converted from a 19th Century stone barn, retaining the natural stone walls and timber beams, and has a quiet outlook over the garden and surrounding South Pennine countryside. We have two acres of woodland-heather wildlife garden, with an established native woodland. There is a picnic area and patio adjacent.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stan and Elaine's cottage. The cottage itself is warm, comfortable, clean, and cosy, and is set within a lovely setting. There were many fantastic walks nearby for our springer spaniels, and Stan and Elaine provided a wealth of information about things for the humans to enjoy.
We carry out an extensive cleaning procedure. All surfaces are sanitised between visits and we allow 24 hours before and after each booking. The calendar is now blocked for this extra preparation time. All our prices are fully inclusive of linen, hot water and hot showers. Clean linen, towels are provided each week.
Heather Bank Cottage has a level entrance, ground floor bedroom and bathroom, and may be more suitable for mobility impaired. There are no extras of any kind. Prices are fully inclusive and cover all linen, towels, soap, heating, cooking, lighting, hot water and hot baths/showers. A full central heating system is installed in each cottage with instant hot water for bath or shower.

Initially booked a three month stay to cover a period between our house sale and a delayed purchase but luckily ended up staying nearly five months between Cherry Tree and Heather Bank Cottages.
Characterful, quaint, traditionally decorated cottages in the Yorkshire countryside with lovely views and all required amenities including washing machine and drier. Very easy access to the business centres of Manchester and West Yorkshire as well as the tourist sites.
A large, well maintained garden provided hours of fun for our children through the lovely summer months as well as a supply of large variety

We have stayed at Cherry Tree Cottage on numerous occasions.
The cottage is ideal for a family of four requiring a base in West Yorshire. The facility includes TV/video,WiFi, washing machine and dryer, iron and ironing board and more than adequate kitchen appliances, utensils etc. The central heating and gas fire keep the cottage cosy even in the coldest weather. Parking is provided. The cottage is situated in the picturesque area of Barkisland and contrary to an earlier review is not next to a Highway. It is on a country road. The traffic is only busy when motorists are going too and from work

Lovely little cottage. Nice bathroom- hot shower etc. The owners Stan and Elaine live nxt door. They were so friendly and helpful, nothing was a bother. We enjoyed the walks along the Rochdale Canal and the walks(&views) on the Norland Moor bhind the house. We also did 2 walks from the cottage walks guide - reservoir walks - easy. It was great having coffee and cakes on the elevated picnic bench behind the house. One small important note - make sure you use the traffic mirror on the telegraph pole as you exit the property. Vital. Thnx Stan and Elaine ...a great break.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay . Stan and Elaine are wonderful hosts. Our family of 6 used both cottages and found them attractive and functional. The grounds and surrounding landscape are pleasurable and we appreciate being away from town. Great place to stay and look forward to returning .

We rented Cherry Tree Cottage for nearly two months while between houses. The two acres of woodland and gardens were wonderful, especially for our four-year-old to explore, learn and play in. Stan and Elaine engaged with her and taught her about the garden and were happy to have her "help". The kitchen is small but functional, the bathroom is good, and the cottage is light and airy. Electric car charging facilities are available off-street (standard 13 amp power connection). Stan and Elaine were very welcoming hosts who took care to make sure everything was fine and even shared some excellent homemade
