The Club is approximately one mile west of the market town centre of Newcastle-under-Lyme with easy access from Junction 15 off the M6 Motorway. Founded in 1908, it is an 18 hole classic English parkland course. Set in the Green Belt, the course gives a very private feel and affords players a feeling of isolation in classic surroundings.
The course comprises mainly of fairways with gentle slopes and undulations (no steep hills) with the holes at the extremity of the course cut through an oakland plantation providing wonderful ancient corridors with which to focus one's efforts. All areas of the course are maintained to a very high standard and the greens are considered the best in the area for speed and consistency.

Services
In early 1908 a group of local business men decided that it was time for Newcastle-under-Lyme to have it's own golf course, subsequently two fields on Westlands Farm were leased from Mr. Ralph Sneyd of nearby Keele Hall. His Imperial Highness the Grand Duke Michael of Russia who was resident at Keele Hall, agreed to be our first president, a position he held for some twelve years.

I had the worst experience here. Paid nearly $170 and had to wait on the group in front of us on nearly every shot. Called the pro shop on the 5th hole to ask them to intercede as we hadn’t seen a marshal yet. At the turn we still had not seen a marshal so it took me going into the pro shop and making a scene to get them to do anything about it. After delaying our turn for 10 minutes we arrived at the 10th tee to find the group still on the green (par 3). I immediately returned to the pro shop and was told they were sending a marshal out to ask them to speed up or find a way to move us ahead

They are charging more than Chambers Bay and the course is in worse condition than Jefferson Park (a Seattle Muni Course), borderline criminal. The course is in embarrassingly poor condition and the tee boxes weren’t even set by 1 pm. Don’t waste your time or your money ($230 a round 😂) unless you want to be extremely disappointed. If negative stars were an option I think -3 would be more than fair.
Even the employee checking me in at the pro shop admitted greens fees were excessive, and even if conditions were pristine, it wouldn’t be worth $230 plus tax in my opinion. Save your money

Fantastic views! I played on the putt putt course which is about $12 per person. It's expensive, but nice. The holes are designed to look like miniature versions of a regular golf course, so no windmills and such. Expect sand traps and water hazards instead. But the real reason to play is for an excuse to enjoy the views, with or without the kids.

So many wonderful things to say about The Golf Club at Newcastle and the staff there.
1. They do an AMAZING job with philanthropy. My first experiences there were early in my photographic career shooting tons and tons of charity golf tournaments. I saw lots of happy golfers and they raise so much money for great causes. Later on, it was always great to see them donating annually to a charity for which I was on the board.
2. As a wedding venue, they set the bar really high for themselves and are constantly working to raise it. They don't rest on the fact that they have one of the most stunning
