Unicorn Projects provide care services for people with learning difficulties and associated mental health problems. Our services are provided at a residential care home and a Day care centre based in central Croydon, Surrey. A member of the British Institute for Learning Disabilities (BILD), Unicorn Projects supports service users to exercise choice and integrate into the community.

Services
Unicorn Projects has provided services for people with learning disabilities and associated mental health problems since 1997. This includes a Residential Care Home and a Day Centre in Central Croydon. Unicorn Projects provide services for people with learning disabilities and associated mental health problems. All our service users Unicorn are encouraged to be independent, are treated individually and are facilitated to make their own decisions and choices.
Our philosophy is that all service users whatever their abilities are given the opportunity to lead as near to full and normal lives as possible and are able to do so in a peaceful, happy and secure environment.Because of mixed abilities particular emphasis is placed on promoting independence and helping each service user to fulfill their own potential.

Our staff are trained to high standard and are now expected to have a Diploma level 2 (or equivalent) in Health and Social Care prior to starting with us in a care role. Our staff will then receive training as recommended by Skills for Care where courses such as Health & Safety, First Aid Awareness, Moving & Handling and Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults are all provided within the first 3 months of appointment.
Unicorn House is a home for adults with learning disabilities and associated mental health problems. The home has twelve single rooms and is a homely residential environment. We take a holistic "whole" approach to care. All service users have a person centred care plan devised to meet their individual needs and preferences.
Unicorn House provides extensive and appropriate social activities which include in house activities e.g. Unicorn Projects has an advantage of a day centre(Action Zone) situated in central Croydon, where they provide extensive programmes to meet the service user's abilities. Prior to any activities full risk assessments are undertaken.
