Providing professional farm and equine veterinary services in the North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire areas for over 100 years. Midshire Farm and Equine is the large animal division of Midshire Veterinary Group Ltd and is based in the market town of Nuneaton where we have been established in one form or another for over a century.

We serve an area within about a 30 mile radius of Nuneaton and currently look after some 400 farms and a large equine client base in the North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire area. We are a member of XLVets which is a large group of independently owned practices across the UK that are committed to the future of the UK livestock industry and to equine work.
Services
On this and the following pages you can find some information on the services we offer to our clients. Our Farmskills Training page gives information on the latest courses available to our clients. Vets are not only responsible for animal disease prevention but also for humans too.

Only healthy food is allowed to enter the human food chain and this is why these aspects of public health are under veterinary supervision, from TB monitoring in the national herd through to meat inspection at abbatoirs, the latter of which being a role several of our vets were involved in for many years.
Rob graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 1992 and came to work at the practice straight after qualifying. After many years as a mixed vet he is now a full-time large animal vet and our lead farm vet and director. His particular interests are in the areas of cattle medicine, fertility, nutrition and herd health.
We offer routine vaccinations, microchipping and passport applications through to medical and minor surgical treatments. We are able to refer your horse to specialist teams as required. We can advise you on preventative healthcare and perform diagnostic tests including worm egg counts and blood sampling.
We have a very proactive approach to our farm animal work including client education and supporting our future Veterinary Surgeons. Our own Vets are expected to keep their skills up to date and our 24 hour emergency service is always manned by one of them. From pregnancy diagnosis to treatment and planning and checks post calving, we work closely with farm staff to help with performance and improvment.
