Pyecombe Golf Club
Pyecombe Golf Club is a marvellous venue for members, casual green fee players and Societies. It can also play host for various functions and activities. Situated in the South Downs National Park, an area of outstanding beauty, the Golf Course offers stunning views across the Sussex Weald and is a haven for wildlife.

The course also offers 'a walk in the country' where natural flora is encouraged and there are regular sightings of deer, buzzards and other wildlife. James Braid, the iconic golf architect, helped shape the course which was originally sculptured in 1894. Since that time, more land has been obtained providing additional length and opportunities to redesign the layout of the course.
Services
Pyecombe is widely regarded as a very hospitable Club with lots of friendly and competitive golf to suit all needs. All sections of the Club including the Vets and Ladies are well supported. The Men and Ladies both have strong Scratch Teams and club matches, including mixed, are played throughout the year against a number of other clubs.
Pyecombe is one of the most picturesque golf courses in Sussex providing panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and in 2016 the Club won the STRI National Environmental Golf Club of the Year. Situated on the South Downs the course is naturally draining providing excellent golf all year round.
Set in a beautiful part of the South Downs it provides an exceptional venue in a relaxed rural setting with easy access and plenty of parking. The Clubhouse has a wonderful atmosphere with plenty of room in the dining room and bar area. We can cater for up to 70 people formally seated or up to 100 people attending a finger buffet.
The course was formally opened in 1894 and is laid out over two rolling ridges and a valley between. Originally a mere 3789 yards, the course now measures 6296 yards off the white tees and plays to a par of 71. The club has an illustrious history and was the home club to Henry Longhurst, the famous and well respected commentator.
From the bottom of the M23 follow the A23 past Bolney Village and Hickstead until you come to a long left swing in the road, passing a Texaco garage on the right. Take the next left signposted A273 Hassocks, Pyecombe Village and Newtimber. At the junction turn right and then follow the road past the Plough public house.

Dont miss out on this gem of a course.
Early morning round - tee off into the sun!
Some of the views are really spectacular. Very good course with excellent greens and fairways. Don't go into the rough and expect to find your ball though.

It's not flat! However the uphill stretch covers the first 4 holes. After that it's not so bad. Greens were in excellent condition and the wind was friendly. Due to the undulating topography in the summer months some fairways are almost impossible to hold but I guess that is part of the examination.

Awesome course...don't be fooled by its length. It defends itself very well. Mike is a fantastic pro with a fully stocked shop with plenty of toys!

We're 240 acres of environmentally award winning golf course located up on the south downs. South downs way national trail passes through the course from where you can enjoy some of our 50acres of wildflower meadows.
