I stayed here for probably the fifth or sixth time in November this year for six nights. Always a wonderful reception, a lovely room, excellent service with charming and delightful staff. Terrific location. The Amsterdam is always our first choice of any hotel when we come to Brighton from our home in Spain.

We stayed here for 2 nights in December in a double room with a balcony overlooking the sea. It was very spacious and clean with a great bathroom and comfortable bed. We loved the terrace even though it was December! Very friendly and helpful staff, special mention to Firose who was great during the booking process as well as while we were at the hotel. Great location, near everything you need in the centre of Brighton. We would stay again.

Can't comment on the rooms but we walked in here for a drink on Friday evening at 2245. No smile or welcoming greeting, no, we were told literally on entering the bar 'just so you know I'm calling last orders shortly'. Didn't really feel clean despite very few customers, tables not cleaned, toilets sort of clean. Anyhow a quick half and we left for not wanting to keep this barman away from whatever it was he was so keen to get to. It's a shame as this used to be a really good place.

Had the worst night so far but the lovely lady behind the bar made use feel incredible. We were meant to go for dinner and a drag show at another venue but they wasn’t open and we were left outside for ages. We walked down the road and found Amsterdam. We got a drink and the fabulous lady behind the bar brought us out the last of her sandwiches which were left overs. We ate up and felt looked after and so much better. Thank you guys, really made us feel looked after and special xx

Pros: nice lads on reception, room was clean. Unfortunately 100% negated by it being impossible to sleep due to the ludicrously loud club next door (and the rude owner).
It's unfortunate - the neighbours aren't their fault, but it's disingenuous and, I'd suggest, immoral to charge guests almost £200 a night without giving any warning when you know that your hotel has a huge noise problem. We're not talking a bit of shouting - we're talking deafening, constant music. It's so loud you can feel the bass in your chest and hear it even with good quality earplugs in (we happen to travel with these

Room was basic but comfortable. We were along the side of the hotel facing the street so we couldn't have the blinds up a the neighbours could see right in. It was a bit noisy but the earplugs provided worked well and I had a good night's sleep.
Check in etc was quick and easy and staff were helpful with parking (which is a nightmare in Brighton!).
The only letdown was the barman with grey hair (not the one with specs) who was rude to us and very grumpy. The rest of the team were fab.

Pros: Great view and helpful staff
Cons:
The rooms were old, tired and disgusting. I wish I had brought antibacterial wipes as I didn't want to touch anything. The kettle had dirt on it so I didn't want to use it. I did not trust the tap water as the taps were covered in stains. The toilet roll holder was covered in a layer of dust and the bath shelves had not been cleaned. I questioned whether the shower would in fact do the opposite of clean. Considering we're still in a pandemic, I find all of this inexcusable, I don't care if you're a 1 star or 5 star hotel, things need to be hygienic.

Was in pub and accidentally spilled a drink. Asked waiters to help me. No one cared, 20 minutes just ignored me. There was not rush time and were three waiters - no one care.
I had to get some napkins and wipe the table. Zero support. Will never ever come back here. was my fault to expect service in not good bar.

We arrived bank holiday Monday and every where was busy. Parking on the pavement and any where they could. Dropped our luggage off and into the room, as I walked in the phone rang and reception said someone was leaving from just outside the hotel,, nipped down and able to park, that is what I call good service. Hotel rooms over look the pier, you don't get much closer!! It's noisy at night
