Tiddlywinks Day Nursery was founded in 1994 by husband & wife David and Imelda Mihell. The vision started at our Hill Lane nursery in the same year following the conversion of a previous farmhouse where the family had lived. Imelda oversaw the day to day running of the nursery as manager creating a nursery full of character and charm which the children and families viewed as a home from home.
Tiddlywinks soon became a family run business after sons Ashley and Ben joined in 2007, after years of guidance from their parents alongside completing their studies at university. Over the years Tiddlywinks have steadily expanded from their original 18 place nursery to their current provision of 7 day nurseries providing daily care for over 700 children and 5 Tiddlywinks Out of School Clubs, providing daily care for over 185 children.

All of our Tiddlywinks Day Nursery branches and Out Of School Clubs have recently been inspected within the last 18 months and all inspections achieved 'Outstanding' with Ofsted. Our aim is to provide a High-Quality Childcare service ensuring your child will be in a warm, professional, secure and caring environment.
Tiddlywinks Ancoats is located within the Heart of Manchester on Taunton Street, only 5 minutes from Manchester City Centre. We provide care for children aged 4 months up to school age. The nursery is registered with Ofsted to provide day care for 72 children between the hours of 7:30 to 6pm and endeavours to provide a high quality child care and pre-school education.
Our Blackley nursery opened in 1994 in the heart of Blackley Village. Our setting was based within an Old Farm House building, which has been fully renovated into the beautiful nursery it is today. In 2014, we completed the developments for our nursery, this has included and extension to accommodate an additional 16 children in our pre-school room.
Tiddlywinks Day Nursery expanded their Outstanding day care service outside of the Greater Manchester region where the company were originally established.
Tiddlywinks had originally been developing this new nursery close to the Centre of Bury on Manchester Old Road for approximately 8 months, after a long time of planning and refurbishments to ensure the site is of high standard for our company to provide the best possible care available for all children.

Tiddlywinks 4th nursery in Manchester is located within Clayton Children's Centre and we continue our tradition of providing high quality; child centred day care for children aged from 4 months up to school age. We offer outstanding childcare for children aged from 0 to 5 years, with 70 registered childcare places.

My daughter truly thrived in tiddlywinks, she loved every minute and created the most amazing bond with each staff member. Everyone greeted her with such kindness and I felt so confident taking her to nursery.… It was so wonderful to see my daughter playing and getting the pictures of her exploring made me feel so much more at ease, it really is one big family and I am so grateful to the staff thank you so much tiddlywinks ❤️😁

I have not once had one bad thing to say about the ancoats nursery. They’ve been a home away from home for my daughter and I look forward to sending my son there. Danielle has given Tola the kind of care that goes above and beyond as her key worker and the rest of the staff truly care about her. It’s absolutely lovely and I cannot thank you all enough

From the bottom of my heart I can’t thank Tiddlywinks Nursery Group enough for everything you’ve done for Charlie over the past 12 months. He’s gained so much confidence and character and come on an absolute… treat. My only regret is that I wished I would have moved him a lot sooner from his previous setting. His nursery experience really started when he walked through your nursery doors. The staff have been absolutely amazing with Charlie and myself (hard work parent) he’s built so many lovely bonds with the staff and I know he’ll miss you all loads!💐

My daughter went here and will be going back soon she loves it. The staff are always happy to help and great to speak to always teaching my daughter new things, I think it’s a great place compared to where she went first I would never recommend anywhere else they are just great. I cannot thank all the staff enough at Tiddlywinks in bury. They have done a brilliant job with my daughter. She was a very shy little girl when she started, now she's a flamboyant, outgoing little girl and I couldn't be more proud of her. Again thank you so much to everyone. Can't believe she is leaving and going to a school nursery. 🤗

My little girl attends the Crumpsall Tiddlywinks and has done since being 11 months, she will be turning 4 next month. I cannot fault the nursery in any way. My daughter loves attending and has made soo much progress over the years. The staff are highly skilled and very attentive to the children. I would highly recommend Tiddlywinks.

Love this nursery my little boy has been attending nursery nursery for the last 4 months. he has come on so well and is progressing extreemly well. the staff are lovely and loved the stay and play sessions watching the interactions with staff anf the amazing activites that was set out for the children.
