Our vision and ethos is very much centred on our agreed image of the child. At Martenscroft, this image is based on mutual respect. It is our belief that every child can teach us through child led explorations to learn and grow to become competent learners. We have high expectations for every child, regardless of need and it is our ambition for every child to succeed and be fully included in all aspects of school life.

Here at Martenscroft Nursery School and Children's Centre we have passionately taken on the Eco-Schools program and have embedded it into our every day teaching and learning. We have achieved a bronze award and a silver award and we are now working towards becoming a Green Flag School. We have recently taken part in '30 days wild' In June from The Wildlife Trusts.
We are delighted to let you know that we have achieved the Rights Respecting Schools Level 1 award. UNICEF's Rights Respecting School Award (RRSA) recognises achievement in putting the Convention at the heart of a school's ethos. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child sets out the rights of every person under 18 and how those rights should be met.
