We had our run club Christmas meal here last night. 48 people. The food was amazing and the staff were excellent. We will most certainly return again. Thanks guys amazing job by you all 💚💚

Lovely food, and the staff were polite and helpful…. The downside to what could have been a wonderful lunch was the wait time for the food. We waited well over an hour, we had to rush eating our meals as we had somewhere to be and the child missed out on her chocolate brownie dessert which was part of the children’s menu deal. Perhaps short-staffed in kitchen, however keeping tables informed of wait times instead of us having to ask the waiter’s multiple times would have been appreciated.

A lovely Christmas dinner in a festive atmosphere. We had a range of dishes between the 5 of us and everything was good. Our waitress Izzy was great too. We have Christmas dinner here as a group every year and it never disappoints 😊

Regardless of what I go in for, girly drink, cocktails, catch up with friends or family lunch the service and food is always top quality! no matter how busy they are the staff here have an efficiency and sense of urgency that you don't see often in pubs and bars anymore whilst always remaining friendly and professional!

Was really looking forward to Sunday roast today with family . What a disappointment it was . Service was awful waited an hour for starters and then another hour for mains, and the food mostly inedible, cold uncooked or overcooked . How any chef could serve food like that is beyond me obviously has no pride in their work . Bar staff weren’t much… better having served a gin without ice when I politely requested some I got a sneer and a glass overflowing with it . Then it was too much trouble to correct their sarcastic error . Only positive was the manager who has only recently started

Such a gorgeous countryside pub! Visited yesterday with family - it felt so cosy/festive sat by the fire, surrounded by all the Christmas decorations🎄Great drinks and lovely service as always!

Awful . Booked for Sunday lunch at 1. Didn’t like any starters so asked if we could have side orders as starters instead which we could. After over an hour we received an apology as the chef was confused and didn’t realise they were meant as starters .
When they turned up they were warm not hot .
Waited another hour for main course most of which was inedible . Food was lukewarm at best , Yorkshire was cold and stale potatoes cold , chicken warm, pork dry and overcooked .
Had to ask for more drinks which was obviously not the thing to do as my gin arrived with no ice so I politely asked if

We have just spent an amazing 2 night pre Christmas break away together. The White Lion was a perfect base with amazing food and drink. We were lucky to have an upgrade to the Bodiam suite which was greatly… appreciated by us both. Great hospitality and a truly beautiful inn. Thankyou for looking after as so well and we will definitely be coming back and recommending you to everyone we know 🥂❤️

We recently held our event here in the function room 💗 it was wonderful. Decorations look very Christmassy and pretty. Staff are super friendly and helpful all day. To top it off they provided some delicious pizzas and salad too, what’s not to love ❤️ Thanks so much for being fabulous 🥳 x

Quite simply the best Sunday Lunch (outside of my own kitchen)!!! Literally everything was perfect, we even raved about how wonderful the carrots were (one large buttery perfectly cooked carrot per person). Best cauliflower cheese too! Even though we were stuffed we couldn't resist the puddings and they were amazing too (Banana Toffee Pudding!!!) We quite literally had to be rolled home!! PS - we went at 4pm, so lovely to have a pub that serves a roast all day and the staff were so relaxed and friendly, no sense of oh my god why are you here so late. Simply perfect. Thank You.

Excellent stay. Wonderfully friendly staff where nothing was too much trouble. Comfortable room and delicious food. Good atmosphere in bar area. Nothing to fault at all

0n the 16th October my daughter had her wedding reception at the hotel and we hired out 11 rooms .
I can honestly everything and all the staff where brilliant the food was lovely and nothing was a problem.
The rooms were very nice clean and comfortable.
Breakfast was excellent and I would recommend the White Lion and Hotel to anyone who was having a celebration 🍾

We made a same day booking for our evening meal. We received a good welcome from the staff. We just wanted a simple meal without much fuss so decided on Pizza - 2 - 1 with salad with a couple of drinks. The food was well cooked and very tasty. We shared a desert which was homemade and good quality. Overall the meal was excellent and filled our requirements for the nights. Thank you to the staff.

Lovely location. Well furnished, very tasteful. Attentive staff. All the food was to a great standard, including kids dishes. The kids pizzas were top quality - beyond other pubs kids dishes. Highly recommend.

The team were incredible when we were taking over the full pub accommodation-wise for our wedding weekend. Everyone has a great time - including the bride! Just a shame you were shut when we got home, haha. Thank you for everything in the run up too!

Really impressed. I come to Tenterden a lot and never actually been here before and I can't believe what I was missing!! They have such lovely vegan options😍. The staff are super friendly and there is seating options inside and out. Recommend for sure and will be visiting again!
