We have been providing the best high quality rental service for Landlords and Tenants since 2008, rebranding to PL Properties in 2016. To date we have set up in excess of 1500 tenancies, with the emphasis on the "personal touch". We pride ourselves on our exceptionally competitive fee structures for both Landlords and tenants, and we do not outsource maintenance or use call centres; everything happens in our office in the Millfields.
Services
To get the ball rolling, one of our friendly helpful team will visit your property and take photos for marketing, and can also advise you of anything you may need to do to get the property ready for renting. The property will be listed on all the usual websites including Rightmove and Zoopla, as the vast majority of our leads in this digital age come from people sitting in their armchairs looking at properties online.
Once you have agreed to a tenant, we will begin the referencing. This involves checking the tenant's eligibility under the "Right to Rent" laws, carrying out a credit search and where applicable obtaining a reference from the employer and Landlord. We will also check pensions, accountancy information or books, and any other income to verify affordability.
At PL Properties, we pride ourselves on being friendly and approachable; we aim to offer you an affordable costs with no hidden fees or unwelcome surprises. Our fee structure is clear and simple, we do not mark up contractor prices or charge contractors for the work given to them, as this cost is inevitably passed onto the Landlord in the long run.
Some Landlords prefer to be more "hands-on" and look after the property themselves, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't have the security of a well referenced, carefully selected Tenant. Our Tenant Find Service works well because, unlike a lot of other companies who offer an inferior service for Tenant Find Landlords, we carry out the same referencing system as we do for Fully Managed.
There are a few things that you will need to bear in mind from a legal point of view, and also some things for you to consider just to help your new tenants into their new home. In our experience, a property that goes out in a good order is more likely to be returned in a good condition, and will also attract a similar quality of tenant.

We rented a property from pl properties for approximately 2 years and really looked after it, we did however find the frequency of inspections to be uncomfortably frequent, however there was little issue during the tenancy. The majority of issues start when we wanted to leave, the letting agent seemed to have a personal vendetta and was very rude and aggressive towards my wife during the final inspection. He had decided without proof that we had kept animals in the property and attempted to retrieve money from our deposit in order to fumigate. Emails were sent that could be deemed as aggressive

Plymouths number one letting agency.
Always willing to help out with enquiries with a smile.
Would not hesitate to use them again or to recommend to a person thinking of renting a house.

This is by far the worst estate agents I have ever been with.
Do not use them or you will just be constantly stressed and anxious at having to deal with them
The only time they were actually helpful and friendly was when I was interested in the property, just so they can draw you in.
Once a contract is signed, they couldn't care less about you.
Staff are unbelievable rood, I have called the office on multiple occasions where the staff don't even introduce themselves and state their names, most likely because they know how rude they are and don't want people to say their names in the reviews

I've had some terrible experiences with estate agents before and I have rented properties over the years from various estate agents in Plymouth and in Cardiff and I am delighted to say that the service I have received thus far from PL Properties is by far and away the best I have ever received. They left us alone with no hassle whatsoever. These guys are the best in Plymouth and I would definitely use them again. Thanks guys!

The most unhelpful unfriendly company l have ever had the misfortune to deal with. As a customer they do not care about any concerns you may have , you are merely treated as part of a cattle market! Use them at your peril.

Worst Estate Agents I have ever come across!! Very rude people (in specific: Sera and Mike). If you want an estate agent that does not respect you or your views, does not operate within the law (such as not responding to information requests) and is merely focused on taking your money than this is the agency for you!
I have never in my whole life been treated with such disrespect and vile attitudes as with them. I would NOT RECOMMEND them to ANYONE!!!!!!!

Ignored my multiple emails and calls about repairs that needed doing in the flat. I had to move out because of this.
They then tried to invoice me for the repairs and tried to keep my deposit.
The deposit scheme refunded it to me in full.

Staff are unbelievably rude, unaccomodating and unhelpful. They make you feel terrible for even asking questions about the property that you're renting and paying for. They even went so far as to shout at me and my boyfriend. The house is lovely (for the most part) but I do think that it is unfortunate that the staff's customer service skills need A LOT of work.

Poor service, the way the have treated my kids previously luckly they have moved now quite a while bk. Got told they would check somethings with the landlord (pets and problems with the property etc) it took them nearly a week to reply with the kids constantly having to chase them up on it then getting turned down for a pet, after being told it was a possibility of a yes. Dont waste your money look else where. Sounded like a poor company too me.

Renting a property was so easy! The staff were really nice to speak to and we're very helpful as this was the first time me and my partner had ever rented. The staff were understanding and put things simply in order for us to understand and the home we moved into was a beautiful first time rent: We don't plan on moving for quite some time. The agency does not hassle us, which is great! (Touch wood) nothing has gone wrong since moving in but I'm sure if anything was to happen, the efficient staff at PLPROPERTIES would be there straight away, all hands on deck to fix the problem.
10/10 would rent
