Services
The main two types of window handle that go on double glazing and they are the Espag handles and Cockspur handle, after these there are Tilt and Turn handles, Spade or Blade Handles and Fork Handles. Espag window handle is usually fixed by 2 bolts and has a square spindle sticking out of the back. This goes into the window frame and engages with the window locking system (or espag) to move the locking points.
Cockspurs are also found on windows which have a slim frame such as caravans or mobile homes. The handle locks by means of a spur (little triangle bit) pulling up against a plastic wedge that is found on the window frame. As a general rule Aluminium window frames use a 9mm handle and UPVC frames tend to use a 21mm handle but this is not always the case and many other sizes are made.
Tilt and Turn handles can be found on tilt and slide patio doors as well as tilt and turn style windows. A tilt and turn window can open so it tilts in at the top of the window first and then in the second handle position will open the window inwards alittle like a door. This sort of window can usually be found on high rise flats so the window can be easily cleaned from inside.

These guys are amazing! Our composite front door hinges failed and we searched everywhere trying to find replacements. We stumbled across Handles and Hinges, so called them and they were so helpful.
