Services
Welcome to Eric Eyre Independent Funeral Services, founded in 1864 and taken over by me in 1955. We offer all of our clients a personal, confidential and independent service and have been entrusted to support many families like yours throughout the very difficult time of a bereavement.

We have decades of experience and skills to offer families, at this, a challenging time, ensuring your personal wishes for the funeral arrangements of your loved ones, are carried out in a dignified and sympathetic way.Our experienced staff are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, making sure someone is on hand at all times to support and assist you.
Paying for it can be stressful if funds are limited and money is not available to cover the costs. Pre-paid funeral plans are becoming increasingly more popular, giving the person buying the plan the option to have a funeral of their choice. Here at Eric Eyre's, we can tailor make plans to suit individual requirements, this is called the Independent Way through a company called Golden Charter.
If the person dies in hospital or a care home, nursing staff will help you through the process. Losing a family member or someone close, is the most difficult time and it comes as a great shock whether expected or not. The Funeral director is your confidant and guide through the process of arranging a most important day, the funeral.
Some families request to have floral tributes from family only and ask mourners and friends to donate to a charity they have chosen. Donations can be made on the day of the funeral, or forwarded to our address at a later date. We then record the collection, inform both the client and the charity. Once the acknowledgement from the charity is received, we scan this to our digital record.
We have a wide range of coffins and caskets ranging from a simple medium oak veneered, to a coffin made to suit your own specification, colourful and individual. The same applies to cremated remains caskets. Scatter tubes are especially designed to help make your scattering ceremony more practical and dignified.

The team at Eric Eyre guided us sensitively through each step in the process of arranging the funeral. They fully addressed our questions, comments and requests, particularly regarding the Order of Service and newspaper entry. They kept us informed at every stage.
On the day of the funeral they were organised and courteous, yet unobtrusive and mindful of COVID restrictions.
Overall, everyone involved demonstrated commitment to ensuring arrangements ran smoothly. The team showed empathy and understanding, whilst remaining efficient and professional at all times.
