John & Mary Mallatratt established Peace Funerals in 1996 after growing frustrated with the limited options and care provided by the funeral companies who had taken care of their loved ones. Peace Funerals has now grown to be a team of a dozen permanent staff committed to meeting your needs. The company won the national award for best funeral directors in the UK, being nominated for the choice and support provided to families.
We provide a well-planned, well-run direct cremation service that can take place at either a local, or less expensive out-of-area, crematorium. There are a whole variety of reasons why someone might choose to have no funeral ceremony, or at least, no ceremony in a church or crematorium chapel. Sometimes it is the express wish of the person who has passed away that no-one should attend their funeral.
Our simple cremation service is a basic package that provides you with support for all the essential components of a simple but personal funeral. If you are looking to arrange a funeral with the minimum of fuss, this may be the package for you. The package includes a quality veneered coffin, and the option of washing, dressing, and viewing (during normal working hours).

If you want your passing, or that of a loved one, to bring some benefit to the environment, then natural burial is a great choice. Natural burial grounds have a much less manicured appearance than traditional cemeteries as they are managed to encourage wildlife.

Lovely family run funeral directors.
They were professional and we, we're treated with dignity and respect from the first phone call all the, way through the process of organising a lock down funeral and all the challenges it brings. The celebrant got in touch with several members of the family for memories of dad to put in his celebration of dad's life speech which was detailed and amusing in parts.
We chose the green cremation option for dad with ashes interred in the South Yorkshire woodland burial ground.
Dad's wicker basket coffin was lovely and just what he would have wanted. I went to

Peace Funerals were so helpful, kind, respectful and considerate, they made the whole experience of organising my Mum’s funeral very simple and easeful. I felt completely in charge of the whole process and was never pressured into paying for something I didn’t want. I had the standard [included ] coffin and it looked lovely, as did the flowers. They found the exact recordings of the music I wanted { I was very specific] and nothing was too much trouble. They went above and beyond to help me and I highly recommend them. Highly highly recommend peace. They took care of my dads funeral perfectly, they took all the stress away so we could grieve. All the staff we met were all genuinely warm hearted, kind, understanding but also down to earth and professional, but a massive thanks goes to Gavin for everything he did for my mum and us he was amazing. The end result was my dad was given an amazing and beautiful send off one I know he would have been proud of and one that wasn't expensive at all. Thank you

The people at Peace have helped me so much through a difficult time. They simply lifted all the worry off my shoulders and did everything exactly the way I wanted it for my dear Dad. He had an amazing Railway funeral and the help from Peace extended way beyond that day and I thank them so much. Wonderful staff, I cannot praise all of them enough and a special thanks to Stephen Parkin.

Have had to use this service twice now,once for my mother in law and one for my own mum, even though the services were years apart I got the same funeral director which put me at ease in such a difficult time. We could not be happier about the service. My mum got what she wanted. Peace Funerals did her proud. Unfortunately I will have to use a service like this again and I will go to Peace Funerals

All the family are so happy with the way the grounds are kept. Although it's extremely still upsetting the surroundings make it calmer and it definitely has a different feeling to a church yard, it's much more natural and personal through all the choices given. I really like that everyone isn't in rows and you have the freedom to plant seeds. The children in the family don't find it scary and they give presents such as stones and leaves or whatever they find and watch how much the oak tree is growing. The other people I've met there seem happier and are complimentary on where they've chosen, I
