He started working as a driver/bearer and mortuary assistant for a very busy Co-operative, learning all aspects of funeral services from the very start. He eventually realised he could develop special relationships with bereaved families and began training to become a funeral director. During this time he gained his Diploma in funeral directing.
When you lose someone dear to you it is a very emotional and confusing time, it is hard to know what to do next, for many people they will not have had to go through this sad process before. When you make the initial call to Jamie at JF Knight funeral director, he will look to put your mind at ease and give you some early, uncomplicated advice on what you need to be doing over the next few days.
Inform the doctor as soon as possible that death has occurred. If it is out of hours you will need to contact the on call doctor. The doctor may write out the Medical Cause of Death Certificate when they visit or may request that you visit the surgery the following day for this purpose. Once the doctor has attended and certified death you can now phone our on call team who will attend within the hour.

A funeral order of service booklet provides a lovely personal touch to a loved ones funeral service and gives a running order of the ceremony to mourners and can be sent to those who are unable to be there. It also produces a beautiful memorable keepsake to cherish. The order of service may include hymns, songs, poems, readings, photographs and anything else you would wish to include.

I could not be more impressed by the compassionate and caring way the funeral for my precious Dad was conducted. What an amazing Independent Family Funeral Directors. Nothing was too much trouble and they showed the upmost care and respect to both my family and late father. Jamie and Shirley were both compasionate, friendly, helpful and explained everything we needed to know. Then we met Tracey who was brilliant, her knowledge and guidence made such a difference, she listened and ensured that our plans were actioned. Furthermore, we met Kevin, who was brilliant at his job, he was empathetic and respected our wishes and put us at ease at all times. The funeral day was just perfect in everyway and all the staff

Would also recommend Minister Dave Goddard. So helpful and friendly. He was really keen to do a great "Life Review" my relative. He was really supportive to me and coached me, because I stood up at the funeral and said a piece as well.
It's important you should celebrate the life and really highlight key points of the deceased's life, at the funeral, in my opinion. Something you won't regret
