Services
The School's history is somewhat difficult to determine but enquiries at Croydon's local studies library have revealed that:. In the school's file for the Nursery School in Pridham Road, the school's file stated that it was originally a day centre for Thornton Heath - presumably run by an arm of the NHS.
Thornton Heath Nursery School (THNS) provides places for children aged between two and four years old and is a school provided by the London Borough of Croydon which is run on their behalf by the Pegasus Academy Trust. The school benefits from exciting learning environments and excellent pupil to staff ratios.
Thornton Heath Nursery School (THNS) admits children aged between two and four years old on a rolling basis throughout the year. Applications are ordered by date, so we recommend applying as early as possible to avoid disappointment. This option allows part time morning children to stay for longer to have lunch in school or part time afternoon children to arrive early and have lunch.
Your child will be in one of the four nursery classes: Caterpillars, Bumble Bees, Butterflies or Ladybirds. Your child will be allocated a 'Key Person'; this person will talk to you about your child's development and develop a significant relationship with your child. The Key Person should be the person you talk to if you have any questions or concerns.
When you choose Thornton Heath Nursery School (THNS) for your child, you choose to put them into the care of an experienced team. We have seven Early Years Educators - with a wealth of experience of how to meet the learning needs of pre school children. We also have 4 Teaching Assistants, a qualified senior teacher and our Head of Nursery on site.

The best nursery I found in the area. Both my children have attended this nursery and I wouldn't recommend anywhere else.
They have separate rooms and garden's for the younger ones (2 year old's) then another for the older ones (3-5).
The gardens are like an adventure playground. with loads of space and activities like painting, play doh, water play, you name it they've got it!.
They also hold a six weekly parents/carer sessions like book club, craft club( optional) etc so you get to not only enjoy seeing what you child does there you get a chance to be involved aswell getting to know and spend

My son goes to this nursery. The teachers and reception staff are so friendly and helpful. Majority of the parents that take their kids there are really nice people too, the rest I don't know because I don't really speak to them.

Ironically this was the last nursery we looked at having already accepted a place for our child elsewhere but we are so glad we changed our minds and chose here instead.
The staff are warm, friendly and creative with a fun, child lead approach to learning through creative play while still successfully accommodating the differing needs of children from a diverse range of socio geographic backgrounds.
Our child is very happy here and is developing well.
I highly recommend this nursery school, (love the garden and play area too)..
To sum up in three words, love this school!
