Wollaton Park Golf Club
The coal-mining Willoughby family had been landowners in the Wollaton area from the 13th century and built the present hall in the late 16th century. Wollaton Hall is a spectacular Tudor building, designed by Robert Smythson and completed in 1588. It is the home to the city's Natural History Museum.

Tom, a golf professional, green keeper and club maker at Notts Golf Club from 1896 until his death in 1950, claimed to have worked on all but one of the courses within a 50-mile radius of Nottingham. Construction work started in the winter of 1925 and took exactly eighteen months to complete. Tom Williamson was paid 150 guineas for supervising the project.

The Golf course has a Good footprint. Greens faster than they look. Would like to play it in drier conditions. The Deer occupancy remind me of Forest of Arden. They lye around like cattle.

Fabulous parkland course. Generous fairways, pristine condition throughout the year, a must play venue for any golfer looking for an enjoyable experience. Forget all the overpriced and hyped up average courses, play Wollaton Park and see what you have missed.
