Here at Anna-Ca-Soo, continuous training is extremely important to us. With practices, procedures and advice being updated constantly, we believe it is crucial to always stay up to date and ahead of the game. That is why our staff are given oportunities throughout the year to go on training courses.
Here at Anna-Ca-Soo Day Nursery, we have a good understanding of children's lives and their social contexts, basing our teaching around them. Supporting and encouraging personality development, autonomy and creativity are top priorities for us. Developing social interaction and understanding differences in others also plays an important role in our work.
Learning and development is supported through planned, purposeful play and through a mix of adult-led and child-led activity. Play is essential to children's development. Children have access to a range of continuous quality resources, which allows them to learn through physical and mental challenges.
Meal times are flexible, enjoyable and a social occasion where children are offered a well-balanced and nutritious diet, carefully taking into consideration their individual dietary requirements/allergies. All meals and snacks are freshly prepared on the premises and where possible include foods the children have grown and harvested from the nursery garden.
Children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates and all areas of Learning and Development are equally important and inter-connect. The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS, 2017) is made up of seven areas of learning and development. Three areas are particularly crucial for igniting children's curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, and for building their capacity to learn, from relationships and thrive.
