We are a physiotherapy and sports Injury clinic established since 1998 in the Stockbridge area of Edinburgh city centre. We are a welcoming, friendly clinic of high caliber trained professionals providing quality hands on service with care. Whatever the problem is we can help you regain your full potential as we treat a wide variety of injuries and conditions.
Services
Each individual client is thoroughly assessed and a clinical diagnosis made; individual treatment programmes are then devised to address your unique requirements. You will receive an individual exercise programme, aimed at maintaining the changes and improvements gained from hands- on treatment. Continuous assessment allows treatment to be modified as improvements are measured by the physiotherapist, and seen by you, the client.
Bill Taylor is consultant Physio with Scottish Ballet, himself and Stewart Scott provide the physiotherapy support at Tramway for Scottish Ballet. We have extensive experience at Taylor Physiotherapy in the treatment of both acute and chronic sports injuries. As a clinic we have treated sports injuries across all levels from amateur to elite athletes. We are the only clinic in the east of Scotland to be accredited as fitters and suppliers of Ossur knee braces.
Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive external device used in Physiotherapy and other multidisciplinary professionals to treat a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. It's mechanism is based on acoustic waves that carries high energy to painful spots and that travel from the device through the applied underlying tissue.
Myofascial Release (MFR) is an effective manual therapy technique that breaks up soft tissue or so-called myofascial restrictions in the body. Healthy fascia is elastic, strong and fluid. Unhealthy fascia is fibrous, stiff and binding. Myofascial restrictions are caused by trauma, injury, surgery, repetitive use, inflammation and poor body mechanics and posture.

I started following Taylor Physio on Instagram because (as a Swedish massage trainee) I really liked the informative posts on muscles and movement etc. When lockdown happened, I noticed they were running pilates classes online - and having SI joint issues flaring up due to home working, I signed up. I noticed a difference immediately - and Anna Maria's pilates sessions have become regular in my diary! Living in Glasgow (not Edinburgh) I actually don't now what I'll do if these classes stop after lockdown ends! It's not just the pilates either - I mentioned an issue with my scapula and Anna Maria

Gareth has a special interested in foot bio-mechanics seeing dancers, and lots of runners.
Gareth examined my feet in detail and very knowledgeable diagnosed my current pain when running down to my pronation and unsupportive clogs for work.
I will change my foot wear and do the exercises recommended.
Thank you x

Bill Taylor of Taylor Physiotherapy is the very best of practitioners. He is highly skilled and knowledgeable, as well as being intuitive, warm and kind. I cannot recommend him highly enough. Because Bill always operates with integrity and professionalism, I am sure the other physiotherapists at Taylor Physiotherapy will also be excellent. In addition - the reception staff are helpful and friendly.
