Richmond (Yorks) Golf Club, situated just outside the historic town on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, is a real gem. The course is open all year round and open to visitors and members alike, while the bar is available for members of the general public as well as members, and can be booked for private hire for special occasions.
Not overly long, the course is still a great test for golfers of all abilities, thanks in no small part to its superb undulating greens. It's an absolute pleasure to play at any time of the year, a cracking golf course in a fabulous rolling parkland setting with no winter greens ever in play, making it one of the best golf courses in North Yorkshire.

Richmond's 18 holes comprise eight of the original nine holes and the ten which were added in 1972 by celebrated course designer, Fred Pennink, who expertly utilised every square foot of space then available. Extra length has been found down the years and the course now measures almost 700 yards longer than it did 40 years ago.
There have always been many great reasons to play golf at Richmond and with improvements constantly made both on and off the course, you will enjoy the test the course offers any time of the year. New tees and bunkers are quite obvious, but Head Greenkeeper Iain Leversuch and his team are making subtle modifications to every hole as they constantly strive to further upgrade all areas of the course.
Under the new World Handicap System, your Handicap Index will be converted into a Course Handicap for every round you play at Richmond GC. Richmond Golf Club is home to the state-of-the-art The Golf Studio, which is available for tuition or private hire. Book lessons or time with Richmond's golf coaches to discover game improving advice and get custom fitted for new clubs. The Golf Studio is also available for private hire and provides an indoor facility for the winter months.
Richmond Golf Club has an extremely active membership. Our sections include men's, ladies', seniors (TOFFS) and juniors, all offering a full competition fixtures schedule aimed at players of all standards. The Men's Section at Richmond Golf Club is extremely friendly with competitions taking place every Sunday throughout the year including Monthly Medals and a host of prestigious Club Competitions.
