Services
We are a small vibrant school, part of the Blue Hills Federation, serving the community of Newcastle and the surrounding area. We are fortunate to be a two class school of 27 children. We strive to put the emphasis on educating children creatively so that we bring out of them the abilities and understanding they need to become independently thinking young people.
Our school is a community made up of both children and adults. Here are the names of the people who work at, or who are involved in, the everyday life of the school. There are many more who have a less official but vital role, including parents of course. Term dates, Holidays and PD Day dates can be found here.
Within the school the children are taught in two mixed-age classes. Each class covers one key stage, ie one infant and one junior class. The teachers employ a variety of teaching methods including individual, group and whole class teaching. The methods are chosen to best meet the needs of the children.
Children attend school the September after they turn four years old. Before children start in reception they will be given the opportunity to attend school for a number of familiarization visits. These will normally be for half a day in the first instance, building up to the full school day, including lunch.
We are a caring Church Federation bringing together and serving many communities. We provide nurturing environments that facilitate learning for all. We encourage everybody to become confident, sociable and responsible citizens who achieve to the best of their ability in preparation for a fulfilling future.
