There are no easy answers when trying to help a bereaved family come to terms with their loss. Every situation is unique and for me, gathering together the smallest of details is the key to providing an excellent service, even in the saddest of circumstances.
It is so important to allow families to have a funeral they feel best reflects their loved one's wishes - be it something simple or unusual my team will always go that extra mile to help you arrange a personal farewell. At any time day or night a member of Collins Funerals will be on hand to assist you in a professional and sympathetic manner.

Services
When a death occurs at home, you will need to contact your family doctor (or doctor on call) who will issue a medical certificate of death. Most families prefer their loved one to be taken to the chapel of rest as soon as possible and this can be arranged by telephoning us at any time. The nursing staff or administrative officer will advise the next of kin and arrange for them to collect the medical certificate of death.
Arrange a date and time for the funeral, according to your instructions. We will contact the church, cemetery or crematorium and/or the person who will be conducting the service, to arrange a mutually convenient date and time. Transfer the deceased to their premises, or provide practical assistance to allow the deceased to remain at home prior to the funeral, if this is your request.
A churchyard or cemetery is the most common place of burial, however you can also choose to be buried in a woodland site or at sea. Some families have a family plot within a cemetery. You can choose to hold the funeral service at the crematorium itself or at a church beforehand if preferred.
After cremation some families keep their loved ones ashes in a casket as a memorial, whilst others prefer to have them buried in a churchyard or cemetery or scatter them in a sentimental place. We offer a large choice of memorials and headstones from skilled craftsmen.

If you wish to visit our private chapel, please ring and inform us when you would like to come and we will make the necessary arrangements. We can bring the deceased home on either the evening before the service or on the morning of the service so that the deceased may leave from home. In each limousine there is room for six people in the rear compartment and room for one in the front with the chauffeur.

We lost our darling Dad suddenly just a few weeks ago. Mum and Dad live near Collins and have always said that’s the place. So our time came for Dad, and we can honestly say words can not explain
the support, kindness and service Natasha and her team provided. We was warned the funeral preparations will seem like a whirl wind, stressful and upsetting ! Our experience was far from this, we went to Collins and met Natasha at the door who’s face and welcome put us at ease immediately and the smell of lovely smelling candles made it feel warm. From that moment Natasha wasn’t just the lady arranging

Exceptional service .
I lost my beloved brother to Covid-19 on the 3rd of April and was devastated to learn i wouldn't even get to say goodbye after hes passing due to restrictions. All i wanted to do was say goodbye to him and see him one last time and my wishes were granted once i spoke to the lovely Natasha.
She dressed him in he's best suit and he seemed to have a beautiful smile on hes face which gave me some much needed comfort.
Dearest Natasha i will be forever grateful to you for what you done and for looking after my brother the way you did.
I will recommend you in a heart beat.

I found Collins after months of researching Undertakers and met Barry last year who talked us through the options. He didn't try to sell us any plans (as many undertakers wanted to). My mother passed away a few weeks ago, so naturally we contacted Collins. We dealt with Natasha, she was the calm voice on the phone providing support, advice and outstanding customer service - nothing was ever too much trouble for her. All queries were dealt with quickly. Due to Covid-19 restrictions were in place. Natasha kept us updated every step of the way with the ever-changing Government guidelines. On the day

Collins Funeral Directors were professional in every way - and arranged everything just as we wanted as a family. Natasha was super in organising and bringing things together - and also kind and compassionate. Barry the Funeral Director on the day ensured everything was flawless - as did the gentlemen with him. The horse team and drivers were magnificent. Can`t speak highly enough. It was just the funeral my Dad would have wanted.
