Our traditional country inn is located just one mile south of the historic market town of Aylsham halfway between the city of Norwich and the coast at Cromer. We are in an ideal location for exploring the beautiful county of Norfolk. Whether staying for business or leisure, guests will find genuine warmth and attention to detail, along with professional standards.
Graham Allison and Bradley Whitlam lead a team of friendly and efficient staff whose aim is to provide comfortable surroundings, great food and excellent service for their guests. The attractive restaurant has a bright and busy atmosphere during the day and is cosy and candlelit in the evening.

Evening food excellent, lovely fresh breakfast. Pub/dining area very clean, service and staff excellent.
However, room was very cold on arrival with no heating on and took more than 1.5 hours to warm up.
Our room overlooked a busy main road and, as a consequence, was very noisy right through the night meaning very little sleep was had. Room needed a little TLC, bed area was clean but not comfortable and curtains didn't fit properly.
We would return for food but not to stay overnight as it needs more attention to detail.

I only gave this place 3 stars as while I was staying here it was during the Covid pandemic and the main bar was shut.
I stayed here while I was in the area on business.
The staff were lovely and could do enough. I ordered in food and they gave me all the cutlery etc that I would need.
The bed and room was fine for a couple of days. Not somewhere I would go with my partner, but more than comfortable for me on my own.
Would be happy to go back.
FYI has a car park if you are driving.

We stayed for five nights and it was great. The room was lovely and clean with plenty of tea and coffee which was replenished daily. It is ideally situated for exploring the area. The downside is that it is on a main road and can be noisy at times, the shower wasn't very powerful and maybe thicker curtains are needed.
We had breakfast every morning and also all our evening meals at The Plough. The breakfasts are wonderful and so were the evening meals with so much to choose from. Saturday evening was very busy and there was quite a backlog of people waiting for tables. The staff were very apologetic

Fantastic quality food served here. Locally sourced produce leading to a range of wonderful dishes. I was spoilt for choice, everything looked wonderful. To top it though was the attentive, but not invasive service that was provided by the four young staff. They work tirelessly to make sure everything is just right.... I wish that we could have this service and quality back in Doncaster! Thank you you all.
