Established in 1982, JSR Opticians is an Independent, Privately owned business with two practices in Manchester. Jagdish Ranshi opened the first JSR Opticians in 1982, in Longsight, Manchester. An Optometry Graduate from Manchester University himself, he founded this longstanding successful practice.

If you are eligible for a screening test you will receive a letter from the NHS inviting you to attend your local Diabetic Eye Screening centre for an appointment. Diabetic retinopathy can affect anyone who has diabetes, whether they are being treated with insulin, tablets or diet only. Generally retinopathy has no obvious symptoms until it is well advanced.

I 've now gone back to Specsavers after these idiots messed up my eye test and sold me Armani glasses that they couldn't maintain. Wore them once or twice. Waste of time and money and the staff are a bit clueless.. I am really surprises that there's a few JSRs out there but I don't urge anyone to go to them. Put down your money at a Specsavers at least there will always be someone to help and advise or refund you. These at JSR just want your money. End of.

I go to the JSR Opticians and the staff and very helpful and try their very best to help all their clients. I have been th other opticians but this opticians is by far the best plus there are many different frames for glasses. All the staff are very talkative and friendly especially the black-haired 'old' 'skinny' lady, shes not old or skinny, Shes actually a very nice lady with manners
