Looking out over the trees of Totteridge is a view many of our residents enjoy from their rooms. Although Baxendale is nestled in a secluded corner of Whetstone, the shops and Underground Station are only a short distance away. Everything our residents need is here, because Baxendale is more than a care home, it's their home.
Services
Resident care, activity and friendship go together beautifully at Baxendale. Our purpose built home opened on our present site in 1963, but our tradition of care goes back to 1861 and the original Baxendale Home, now the site of the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. Within Baxendale you'll find modern facilities: light airy rooms, dedicated, caring staff and happy, active residents.
Joanna has been Deputy Manager at Baxendale, and Jacqui's invaluable right arm, since 2009. Prior to that she was the Head of Care at a care home in London. We take the word 'care' very seriously at Baxendale. All the staff at Baxendale have one goal in mind: we're all here to ensure our residents stay as healthy and happy as possible and get the best out of their life here.
You can also share your experience about a service we provide. Should you wish to make a complaint about one of our services, please read our Complaints Procedure. How many staff do you have on duty? During the day there are ten dedicated care staff on duty, including a Team Leader. During the night this is reduced to five care staff.

The guest-stay was carried out in a disorganized and shambolic manner with little or no planning. They sat mum in the lounge and walked away,
My father was laying in a hospital bed dying and mother was naturally unsettled and confused (which I explained).
I was ushered away by staff and encouraged to leave my mother and return later that day. (I was in tears).
When I returned I was very coldly told that my mother
