We believe that children thrive in an environment which values their own uniqueness, while providing support and opportunities to grow emotionally, socially and creatively. By building on each child's strengths, interests and curiosities, we guide each child to explore the world around them as well as develop new abilities and form close relationships.
At Sutherland Day Nursery we use a private and personal to you live feed interactive app to keep you up to date and informed about your child's time with us. The app was designed to make daily reporting of children easier and more time efficient so nursery staff could do what is most important and spend valuable time with the children and not caught up in paperwork.
I am delighted that you have expressed an interest in our nursery, established in 2007. Since then we have become an active member of our local community and have developed an excellent reputation as a caring and professional provider offering outstanding service (as deemed by Ofsted and parents alike) and value for money.
Staff are very vigilant in their supervision of children, while at the same time allowing them the freedom to explore their environment safely.' Managers have a clear vision for the setting, and have developed a learning culture among staff. As a result, the quality of education is strong and improving.'
We have five rooms for children aged 0-5 which provide care to 72 children across the whole nursery: Kangaroos, Tiggers, Robins, Rabbits and 'the wisest' Owls. The nursery's safety is enhanced by a controlled access system and CCTV cameras at the entrance and all the rooms, as well as in the garden area.

Our son has settled so well at Sutherland since joining - and in the intervening transition from Tiggers up to Rabbits Room. The staff are always friendly, informative, but the most important thing is that I get the sense they genuinely love and care for our little cheeky boy. Every day is an adventure, filled with art, play, good food (important!)… and the cozy reminder that our son is surrounded by a multitude of friends - both young and old. He continues to develop into an intelligent and empathetic boy...and that is in no small part down to the effect of Sutherland Nursery.

My 2yo has been at Sutherland for over a year now and has thrived. She attends for two full days and has learned so much within the themed topics - she can say the full alphabet, count to 20 and name colours and shapes. She loves the arts and crafts too. The Famly app is great because it’s updated regularly and I can see from work what she is up… to. The end of the day feedback is always thorough and focused on positives and achievements. The nursery and also very good at dealing with her food intolerances, all plates and meals are labelled beforehand.

This has been the best choice of Nursery for our son. They have encouraged and supported him to grow in skill and confidence over the last 2 years and we intend to keep him here until he starts school. Staff are so friendly and have also supported me as a mother. My son gets to do activities I would struggle to do at home and he has created some lovely bonds with other children. We are very proud of the little boy he has become and know that the nursery have contributed to his beautiful personality.
