Giotto is a quaint family-run Italian restaurant tucked away in New Oxford Street and open since 1996. Sitting nicely in the city, Giotto is quite close to Covent Garden and within close proximity to the main theatres of the west end like Shaftesbury and Dominion theatres and the British museum - offering peaceful and relaxing settings to guests away from London's heavy hustle and bustle.
The name Giotto is of Italian origin meaning "pledge of peace". This appealing Italian name is also associated with the great Florentine painter and architect Giotto di Bondone, a major force in the Italian Renaissance. The menu is a melting pot of classical Italian cooking: from delicious antipasti, to stone baked pizza and freshly made pasta produced by our passionate kitchen team, whom have over 15 years' of experience.

The food here is AMAZING.
I went get in a Sunday with a few friends for brunch and we had a great experience with food. The staff wasn't that friendly or accommodating.
I had the chicken spaghetti which was out of the world. My friends ordered pizza and some chicken breast dish which was brilliant too. The garlic bread was okay too.
Overall a must visit place to try their Italian food.

Mario booked over the phone on a Sunday evening for my family of 4 on the day and we walked in half an hour. He were welcomed and he was extremely polite. He made sure the food came to us in good time as we had to go somewhere after. Food was delicious as we enjoyed a 3 course meal. Cosy, clean place.

Food is subpar. Service from the female manager or owner is almost offensive in the most polite English way. We walked in before 10 or 11 to see if they we're open and the first thing she said was if you can eat in 30 minutes as they we're closing. She told that to two other people who came in after as well. Our food came out VERY quickly so I'm sure everything was either preprepared or microwaved. It made our stomachs a little upset. If you can past this and make it to Shake Shack, I recommend doing so.

There were two reasons why we found ourselves at Giotto recently. No 1, because we had organised a reunion dinner and it was most central for us all and No 2, it was on tastecard so there was a deal to be had.
Giotto is a cute looking Italian restaurant in an area which has its fair share of tourists. Being a stones' throw away from the British Museum, the delights of the theatre district and door to door guest houses/hotels, it is a destination base for a lot of travellers, albeit a bit more family orientated and grown up.
This was clear in the restaurant. It was devoid of locals, cool

Meal was served in good time. Received a warm welcome and good customer service throughout - which you will undoubtedly pay for on the service charge. One big perk was the piano playing in the background, however you will have to face the unavoidable tip-me gaze of the pianist upon your exit, which you may or may not succumb to.
All in all food was good, but was it worth it $ wise?
2 people 30 GBP (no starters; shared large bottle of water; includes service charge) for a 'good' meal.

When my boyfriend and I visited London, we stumbled upon this place as we were visiting the museum. I loved their Alfredo and the Tagliatelle el Fungi. It was so good that we went back a second time (in the rain and almost getting lost) because we were having a hard time finding flavorful Italian food in that area. I would go back if I'm ever in London again (hopefully!)

Horrible food and horrible service.
I mean REALLY bad. It wasn't busy and it took 45 min for our food to come - fried zucchini, a margherita pizza, penne pomodoro, and tagliatelle with pesto. The zucchini tasted like oil that hasn't been changed in 6 months. Inedible. The pizza had almost no sauce and so much cheese. No basil. It said tomato, basil, mozzarella on the menu! It was not a margherita pizza. Terrible. And it's a shame because the dough was good. Avoid this place at all costs.

This was a lovely surprise....a really sweet family-run Italian restaurant, smack in the middle of 'tourist central' on New Oxford Street.
After a few pints with friends at The Crown Pub (across the street from this restaurant), hunger drove us elsewhere but the bad weather kept us from going too far away. I walked across the street with some trepidation, as part of my party included a picky Italian who...if the food and service were not acceptable...could be difficult to manage!
In brief:
Ambience: Clean, modern, comfortable. Staff: Warm and friendly.
Prices: Typical of the

I've been here several times, and I think it's quite honestly pretty fab, but in a very laid-back sort of way-- a slice of Italian hospitality in London, both the good and the bad bits of that.
They're very laid back in terms of service, and the food is rather good Italian standards. After just a couple of visits, the staff starts to remember you (or they did me, in any case), and you get warm, hearty hellos.
The whitebait is always fresh & lovely; the bottom wines punch above their weight class (Sicilian reds, mark these words, will soon be a Big Thing), pasta is right al

A nice enough Italian restaurant. We went in as they were advertising a 2 courses for £9 deal, but when we enquired of the waitress about it, she clearly didn't understand and had to get somebody else, who eventually gave us the set price menu.
The choice wasn't incredible on the set menu, but it was sufficient. I had melon to start. They don't mince their descriptions - it was literally JUST melon. 4 slices of melon. Nothing else. My partner's bruchetta was considerably more complex. The main dish was tasty enough but nothing spectacular. To be honest I think you'd
