Doug Newman was originally set to be a farmer and was all prepared to go to college to learn the agricultural trade when a trip to a jeweller's shop changed his mind.
Accompanying his father, who was an electrician to a job at a jewellers, Doug instantly knew he wanted a different career path. At age 15 he began an apprenticeship as a diamond setter and engraver and after a two-year tenure in the army working in the dental core he started his professional life as a jeweller at Tinsley and Co.

My husband bought a lovely ring from Gold Arts in Brighton from Martin Getting who was really helpful and very knowledgeable about the ring, it needed to be re-sized which was carried out at their Chichester branch, Katie booked the appointment, what a lovely lady, very pleasant and courteous. Matt the jeweller was also a lovely gentleman, the work Matt did on the alteration on the ring, was a fantastic job, absolutely spot on with the sizing and new fit.
I thoroughly recommend both branches of Gold Arts, a very professional jewellers.

Wonderful service from Mark and Katy, who went above and beyond to help us find and purchase the perfect eternity ring for my fiancé. Every time I have been in to Gold Arts it is a pleasure. They have the most beautiful pre-owned as well as some stunning contemporary pieces.
On my most recent visit, I needed a ring resized and repaired and the whole team were just so helpful and is good (if not better) as new.
If you are looking for a jeweller, I can't recommend Gold Arts enough.

I recently purchased a diamond ring at Gold Arts and the service was excellent. Katy looked after us and made us feel special. She also noticed that the ring I was wearing had a really loose stone and was in danger of being lost. Whilst reducing the size of my new diamond ring, they also repaired my old ring and polished it at no extra cost. Great service! We have purchased items of jewellery here before and we are never disappointed.

Just been into Gold Arts with my fiance to replace her engagement ring (which came from another establishment) following a disastrous time in which a stone fell out within the first month and the repair took almost 2 months. We were served by Katy, who was friendly and incredibly helpful. The service was second to none, the store had prices for all budgets and we walked out with a beautiful new ring for my fiance and we are both very happy.

Having rings made by Matt the gold smith, amazing work and people often comment how unique the pieces are. No job is to small nor to big, just ask and it will be done. i have had all my valuations done by these guys,… fantastic comprehensive service including pictures, full descriptions presented in a file, at very competitive prices. i now travel over two hours down country to see them when ever i need something done, or fancy a treat, i have not fond a comparable

This is a small shop located just next door to Debenhams in Eastbourne town centre. They stock a slightly ecclectic mix of jewellery and watches, but not too much quantity wise. I think they do second hand jewellery too.
Parking nearby would have to be the Arndale Centre car park (charged for) or there is limited on street parking which is pay and display.
As with many smaller jewellers the door is ring for entry.
I have found the staff a little condescending in the past but perhaps the fella who served me was having an off day. Avoid them for jewellery repairs as it is costly here, as is some
