Rufflets St Andrews
Rufflets is where you can take time to connect with yourself and those you love. Where you can find a treasured, personal space whether that's inside, curled up in a cosy, fireside corner, or outside, finding your inner peace in a quiet spot in our shady woodland or strolling through our colourful gardens.

Three generations of the same family have poured their heart and soul into creating a hotel that has a unique warmth. Come and enjoy our easy hospitality. We've put a lot of thought into making sure your bedroom becomes your own little haven to chill out in, with restful views overlooking the countryside or our beautiful gardens.
Services
Rufflets was built in 1924 as a private home for Anne Brydon Gilroy, the widow of a successful Dundee merchant who traded in jute, a natural fibre used to make cloth. You can see her initials ABG engraved on the key stone above the door leading to the formal gardens. Until 1924, the 10 acres of Rufflets grounds had been used for agricultural purposes.
The essence of what we are about is offering our guests the opportunity to connect with the natural world. We provide a St Andrews oasis where our guests can actually stop for a moment; take time to look up and hear the tuneful bird song, walk barefoot and carefree on the soft green lawn or sit at peace under the cool shade of the trees and listen to the gentle babble of the burns.
Whether it's your first visit to Rufflets or you've been coming to stay with us for years, you'll feel like you've always been part of our extended family by the welcome you receive. We're naturally warm hosts and want you to feel relaxed enough to be completely at home here. We have so many lovely spaces to enjoy, both inside and out, and we want guests to find a special place that feels just right for them.
We are constantly evolving our practises with the aim of limiting the impact we have on our environment. We have ploughed our green energy into our gardens, creating wild flower areas, extending our kitchen gardens and designing a healing garden. But that's just the start of our love affair with nature.
Every bedroom has its own distinct shape, size and personality, but each one is as warm and inviting as the next. Our countryside location means that most of our bedrooms look out onto our gorgeous gardens or wooded front, so you can always find a calming space to gaze at. Whether you're relaxing in a Classic Room or luxuriating in our impressive Turret Rooms or Suites, you'll always enjoy a restful time in the luxury of your bedroom sanctuary.

Ideal location and pleasant hotel with all the required amenities. A little pricey for the standard that it is at.

Garden is a great venue for a wedding if the weather is good. Friendly and attentive staff even if they muddled up some of the drinks orders. Convinced its down to begin new and just need a bit of experience

This is such a fantastic place. The staff are so friendly, accommodating and kind. The food is incredible and the rooms are lovely (the bathtubs are absolutely incredible).
I highly recommend Rufflets to anyone who wants a fancy yet reasonably priced getaway!
(The duck is fabulous and the scrambled eggs on smoked salmon makes a delicious breakfast)

This place is absolutely lovely!! Slightly pricey but well worth a visit for a special occasion or if you're around the St. Andrews area. Only 5 mins drive away from St. Andrews city centre. The interior decor and outside grounds are quite special. The grounds extend quite far and during the summer months will look stunning. Great for pre or post lunch walks. It's a popular place for weddings and I can see why! Opulent but not intimidating.

I took mum here for Mother's Day and she was very happy with the whole experience. A set menu of £27 for 3 courses was available. There were
