At Leigh CE Primary School we are proud of our caring, nurturing community, with a team of staff who are committed to ensuring the needs of all children are at the heart of everything that we do. We hold a strong child centred approach to teaching, where consistency, praise, encouragement yet challenge are key.
As a church school we recognise and celebrate that every child is unique and special. We believe that all children are wonderful and have unique potential waiting to be unlocked. Our aim is for all children to believe in themselves, feel happy and confident and achieve their full potential to be the best that they possibly can.

Services
We adhere to the Department for Education's remit: "to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs." We have a School Council which meets regularly to discuss issues raised.
To ensure our children develop spiritually, morally, socially and culturally as part of our Church School communities. To ensure our curriculum provides opportunities to prepare pupils to aim high and 'spread their wings and fly'. To teach pupils to work cooperatively with others, to respect others and to act with integrity.
Every child at Leigh C.E. school takes part in daily phonics lessons from Reception up to Year 2 following the 'Letters and Sounds' Programme of work. In these lessons pupils are taught about the sounds that make up words and the letters we use to represent these sounds. Pupils are taught to segment and blend.
We have a school uniform which we believe encourages and promotes pride in the school and prevents discrimination. All children are expected to wear full uniform. All items of uniform should be clearly labelled with your child's name. The school has very clear rules about jewellery. Items such as bracelets, rings and necklaces must not be worn by children in school.
We are thrilled to announce that our school has joined the government's National School Breakfast Programme (NSBP), which is being delivered by the charities Family Action & Magic Breakfast. Free breakfast bagels are available in every classroom and are offered to all children each morning from 8.35am.
