If you are coming from the north, take the A697, which starts south of Edinburgh off the A68. The A697 runs through Coldstream and Wooler. Approximately 8 miles south of Wooler, turn right just as you reach Powburn, signposted Branton and Fawdon. Branton is just over a mile up the road and you'll find us at the top end of the village.

Came here 2 years ago with family. Came back with in-laws and family. Hired 2 cottages 6 and a 4 next to one another and both were excellent. Well stocked kitchen equipment. Good decor etc.
Kids loved the pool. Booking on-line for pool is easy. 2 cottages/family's allowed in at a time.
Have increased other kids facilities since last visit.
Very family friendly for all ages.
The Bosk restaurant was very good quality food and was well sized portions and reasonable priced. Recommend you going for at least one meal or have take away pizzas when you arrive on Friday night.
Will return in another

Just back from a fantastic stay at Hemmel House. I booked for 4 adults and 4 children. Only a few minutes drive from the pool, gym and other facilities but we made good use of everything. The swimming pool is very popular but the booking system allows for fair booking/covid safe. Hemmel House itself is stunning. Beautifully decorated and to a really high spec, they've thought of everything. The space inside and outside was great for our children. The hot tub a great added extra and to top it off the location is absolutely stunning! We had a wonderful week away and couldn't recommend this property

THE BOSK - We visited this eatery last night and sampled the Caribbean menu. We where very impressed by the reasonably priced food and would recommend to others when it fully reopens next week. All the best for future. We will be returning in the future when we are next in the area.

We had a lovely short break here with our dog reactive dog. Only gave 4 stars as I couldn't let our dog run around the garden without her lead after she chased a rabbit under the fence the rabbits had chewed a hole in the mesh which meant they were getting in and our dog would be able to get out I had to get under the hedge to pull her back through bunnies had a very lucky escape that day after that had to keep her lead on. Having said that the cottage was beautiful I could have moved in permanently and great location for walking and getting to other places. Would highly recommend.

This place is 5* self catering. All the little touched have been thought of. The facilities are brilliant with a pool, tennis court, a kids play area, a games room and the lake is lovely to walk around too.
The kitchen cupboards and draws have those extra things that make this a special place to stay.
The welcome pack is a wonderful touch.
Oh and the beds are so comfy.
