Just had a fabulous few days at Thimble Cottage. We had a lovely relaxing stay, enjoyed the antics of the beautiful white peacocks that visit occasionally - especially with the males being so amorous and displaying to their ladies enthusiastically (to no avail!). The Lounge is lovely and cosy with the woodburner going, but we didn’t need it every night as the weather was not as cold as expected for January. Super drenching shower, and the kitchen has everything you could need. Easy 10 minute drive from Alnwick, just took it slow for last few hundred yards to look out for pheasants in the woods

Stayed at the cottage for a week with family. Great base, well placed for plenty of super days out. Cottage had plenty of space and was quite well equipped. 4 adults shared cooking duties and all had to learn quickly how to cook on an aga! Lost stars for uncomfortable beds and cleanliness - I appreciate it's a cottage conversion and there's a limited amount of time between guests but under beds/fittings and in corners clearly never get done. Found an electric toothbrush, empty juice carton and loads of dust under one bed. Dropped a bag on the floor and picked it up totally covered in thick dust
