Coombe Mill
Originally a 16th Century watermill, Coombe Mill child-friendly farm holidays is now a beautiful and secluded hamlet of picturesque cottages and lodges set amidst an idyllic 30-acre private estate between Bodmin Moor and the Beach. The part of the holiday that sets Coombe Mill apart from other Child Friendly Farm Holidays is the daily morning tractor rides around the farm to feed all the different animals.

From Chickens, Pigs, Ducks and Guinea Pigs, to Sheep, Alpaccas, Goats, Deer and Ponies, there really is an animal to please everyone who stays. Join Farmer Emma as many days as you'd like during your stay for a truly hands-on farm animal experience, and even go home for breakfast with fresh eggs you've collected yourselves!

We have 3 young children who all love the outdoors. Millie our eldest and twins Sam and Sienna. Coombe Mill is our business, our passion and our hobby and we live on site. This is our home which we love to share with you here on holiday. If there is anything you need we are happy to help and have a handy intercom from our house to the reception shop.
The farm map is schematic and while it is a good representation of the space at Coombe Mill Holidays it is not totally to scale. Our 23 acres are there for you to enjoy and hope you will explore it widely throughout your stay but be mindful we are a working farm and their are natural hazards such as the river and lakes.
Below are the Coombe Mill Farm Holidays Reviews sent into us directly from holiday guests who have appreciated their stay and have kindly thought to say so. We came our two boys aged 1 and 2 and I was pregnant with #3 -we had a fantastic time and loved the peace and tranquility -the owner has triplets the week we were there so I could tell it was child friendly!
If large holiday accommodation for all the family with a modern contemporary feel is what you are after Heligan is the property. Heligan was designed back in 2006 and built by our friendly moorland builders. Named after the famous Cornish gardens, Heligan is spacious and comfortable for a family of 8.

A very friendly and special place. An animal experience after breakfast and then onto the beach.... wonderful. Most of the beaches we like are nearly an hour away, but driving everywhere takes ages in Cornwall and we just accepted that and knew it in advance. For poor weather days during a UK holiday you literally couldn't do better than this place.

Incredible location and truly welcoming hosts. We loved our stay here and spent time in and out of Coombe Hill. The lodges are extremely well maintained, clean and managed. Will be back soon!

A really wonderful family holiday at a fantastic location. We watched our children transform in confidence by the day with feeding and holding the animals. Highly recommend this holiday. Very friendly hosts including their children, who our children really enjoyed playing with around the feeding times. Our pet dog also loved his holiday especially his morning walks near the brook.
Also a very COVID safe holiday. We will be coming back here.

What a great place to stay for families! Kids love the animal feeding and I appreciate that I've learned things too! I really hope we don't have to buy guinea pigs after this trip though, kids love them! Great accommodation and love the self contained and self catering nature at this time. Very good covid processes. We feel very safe.

Lovely site and lovely activities for young children. The site is fairly remote other than a village a short walk away, but larger towns are easily accessible by car

We’ve been here six times with our two young kids, always in the winter and we’ve loved every minute of it. We always book another trip before we leave as we are all so happy here. Fiona and Nick have thought of everything when it comes to a family stay and the kids love just being kids in the rain or sun on the farm. If you’ve got children and like to escape from the world, this is the place to go. I cannot recommend it enough.

Wonderful farm, ideal for under 5s. Lovely house, nice little touches with feeding animals each morning, activity hour on a Tuesday, and reasonably well stocked games room for adults.

A wonderful place for toddlers. Each morning they can help the farmer feed the many different farm animals. In the evening they can ride a model train. In between there is the indoor play area, outdoor play areas and more. Self catering cottages and lodges are very well equipped.
