Moy Regional Primary School was built in 1931 and renovated and extended in 1968. At present the school consists of three classrooms, a large assembly /P.E hall, a kitchen and playing field. The school grounds are neatly laid out with shrubs, trees and large areas of grass. There are two large hard surface playgrounds, one used by Foundation and Key Stage 1 children and the other by Key Stage 2.
My name is Mrs Little and I am the current Principal of Moy Regional Primary School, where alongside a team of caring and committed members of staff we strive to ensure that each child is valued as an individual and given the opportunity to 'Play, Learn and Grow Together ' within a happy, welcoming and stimulating environment.
Primary Two have taken part in their Shared Education lessons on the theme of 'Autumn in the Forest'. We experimented with colour mixing to create Autumn colours and then enjoyed a leaf shower outside! Bridges of different designs were made from KNEX and tested with weights to see which one was the strongest!
P3 and 4 have been involved in the Forest Schools project in conjunction with Mid Ulster Council as part of the Learning Without Walls initiative. This involved us taking part in lessons at Ranfurly House where we learned about topics including camoflage and made houses and dens using natural materials.
Through the Ulster Scots, we have been taking part in lambeg drumming classes. The children have really enjoyed learning about the history of the lambeg drum and learning how to play it. The children will receive a certificate on completion of the course. Some of our class recently presented with their certificates and prizes for reading 100,000 words in Accelerated Reading.
