Since having the nursery we have made many changes to improve the nursery and to meet Ofsted standards. The Nursery Manager is Katie Savage. Katie holds a NVQ 4 qualification in childcare, and has many years' experience. She has a hands on approach within the playrooms, and is very approachable. Kate will help you and your child settle into nursery life with ease.
Also assisting Kate in the running of Little Fingers Day Nursery is Leanne Blake, our deputy manager. Leanne has worked at the nursery for many years helping to make our preschool room the excellent standard that it is today and also holds an NVQ 4 qualification. The rest of our team is made up by fully qualified nursery nurses as you can see below.

Services
We feel its important to offer our children a nutritious menu whilst at Little Fingers Day Nursery, which includes a healthy breakfast, varied snacks, a hot cooked lunch and a light tea. Drinks are offered throughout the day. Our cook prepares our meals freshly on a daily basis. We do our best to promote healthy life styles, we cater for dietary requirements and allergies and are happy to discuss your child's eating habits with you.
We understand how difficult it can be for parents to leave their baby during the day. Our baby room is a home from home environment, we follow each baby's individual routine/care plan, which is discussed with parents when babies join us during their settling in sessions. We feel this helps with the settling in process for both baby and parents.
The pre-school department of Little Fingers Day Nursery in Darenth, Kent is organised around the EYFC document. The pre-school department is designed taking in to consideration the EYFS document. Although this is a time when most children need structured approach to their development, they still need to learn through play-based activities.
Little Fingers Day Nursery realises the importance of each child having a key person who is special to them. The following responsibilities are subject to key persons being available to care for their key children. In their absence a familiar person will take their place. Introducing a new child to their room and talking to parents/carers about the child's individual needs and routines and support them throughout the settling in process.
Each child's key person will record children's progress through out their time at Little Fingers and will be responsible for carrying out Observations on your child. These observations are used to help staff plan activities and help provide activities that are geared around your child's interests and stages of development.
