My name is Joanne and I am the Nursery Manager at Acorns. I have an NVQ level 3 and have over 30 years of childcare experience. I hold a Paediatric First Aid qualification, Safeguarding, Child protection along with Leadership and Management training. It is a pleasure to be a part of the children growing and developing within a caring and stimulating environment where they can thrive.

I greatly enjoy welcoming new families to the nursery and providing high quality care. At Acorns we have a dedicated, fully qualified, professional staff team. All staff hold a Paediatric First Aid qualification and have opportunities to access any relevant additional training, including degree level qualifications.
Services
Our Baby Room is a bright, inviting room where we encourage the babies to explore and develop with a sensory approach. With a maximum of 6 babies each day the room is a calm oasis with a wide range of natural resources. Babies are given the opportunity to be creative and enjoy painting, sticking and sand and water play.
Acorns Nursery employs a dedicated chef, with experience in catering for children to produce all nursery meals in-house. The chef devises menus on a 3 weekly rolling basis and in line with the Children's Food Trust's 'Eat Better Start Better' guidelines. All meals and snacks provided are nutritious and varied, avoiding large quantities of fat, sugar, salt, preservatives and colourings.
Situated among fields in the grounds of Sevenoaks Primary School, Acorns is fortunate to have a lovely large, enclosed garden which is used on a daily basis. The children are able to manage risk with climbing frames, swings, climbing rope and balance beams.

The children are able to stretch their physical skills and enjoy the freedom to run, ride, slide and climb with a canopy of mature trees giving shade in the summer and fun with leaves in the autumn. We have a planting area, digging area and mud kitchen so wellies are a must! Our fire pit also allows the children to experience aspects of safe, outdoor fun.
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. It promotes teaching and learning to ensure children's 'school readiness' and gives children the broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for good future progress through school and life.
Take a look below at some of the nice things some of the parents of our students have had to say! Both my children love Acorns - and have even asked to go there at the weekends! It has given them a happy, secure, stable beginning in life and I feel they have a strong bond with the staff. You can tell a happy nursery from one that isn't and Acorns has always had a calm, happy and inspiring vibe.
