Services
On behalf of children, staff and governors, I would like to extend a warm welcome to you and hope that you enjoy looking at our website which aims to share with you, useful information and a taste of what Hylton Castle Primary School is all about. I started at this school as Deputy Headteacher in 2013 and am delighted to now be Headteacher.
Our School Prospectus gives parents/carers an overview of the operational aspects of our school, its expectations from staff, pupils and parents of the school, our core objectives and beliefs and everyday workings of our school. Our School Prospectus is given to our new intake of Nursery children and any children that enter school throughout the year, it is also readily available for parents from the school office.
At the beginning of each academic year a new school council is elected, one or two members from each year group are voted to become the Class School Council representative. The School Council meets regularly with Mrs Wood, Headteacher and Mr Laurie, Deputy Headteacher. They always help us make big decisions about how we can improve things on our school.
We are always looking to improve what we do in school. Most mornings I come out to meet the children as they come into school via the yard and this is a great way for parents to have a quick word with me. If it's not something parents / carers want to talk about on the yard we can always pop inside and chat somewhere more private.
Hylton Castle Primary whole school/setting supervision policy aims to provide clear direction and guidance for those who hold responsibility as Designated Safeguarding Leads or Nominated Deputies in Child Protection in receiving appropriate one to one, peer or group supervision in the area of Child Protection.

I currently use the hall every Wednesday 3.15-4.15pm to run after school karate activity sessions. The new school building is very impressive. The children are a pleasure to teach and from my experience the staff (from cleaner, office staff, teachers and even the caretaker) couldn't be any nicer.
