Services
Dr Joshua Rusnak has looked after the health of Northwest London's pets for over twenty years. He maintains the same dedication to providing independent, professional care of the highest standard for your pet. Joshua has obtained the Cert SAS in 1998, a post-graduate qualification in small animal surgery which is awarded to fewer than 15 vets in Britain each year.
Veterinary treatment can often involve surgical procedures, which can be stressful both for pets and their owners. With vet Dr Joshua Rusnak's advanced training and experience in this area, and our fully equipped, dedicated operating theatre, we can ensure that any operations your pet may need can be carried out as soon as possible and in a sterile environment.
Our clinic provides the very best in health care for your pet, in a bright and comfortable setting. We have state of the art equipment on site to allow us to make accurate assessments of your pet's condition, in most cases without the need to go to a referral centre. Because we have our own in-house laboratory machines, we do not have to send samples away.
The Pet Travel Scheme (PETS) is the system that allows pet dogs, cats and ferrets from certain countries to enter the UK without quarantine, as long as they meet the rules. It also means that people in the UK can take their dogs, cats and ferrets to other European Union countries and return with them to the UK.
Our practice plays an active part in the local community. We are proud, regular supporters of local events such as 'Woof stock' in Gladstone Park, where Dr Joshua Rusnak often judges the dog show, the 'Jester Festival' and the West Hampstead Community Centre. We are active and strong supporters of the Mayhew Animal Home, as well as other local RSPCA and animal welfare groups.

I decided to go against the bad feeling I had after an unpleasant phone call with the receptionist of the surgery and take my dog there. Our first appointment went fine, the vet was nice and she gave my dog the vaccines he needs. The second time I came back because my dog was ill. We were scheduled for 6:15pm and the vet came to see my dog at 6:50pm (we were waiting outside in the cold - which is fine, I understand current days but I'm writing exactly how it went). The vet was nice and friendly and asked me to take a urine sample for a stick exam (that is done in the surgery in a couple of hours

Critical: Professionalism
A truly awful experience. My poor little pet was terrified. Rude receptionist. The vet didn't bother to have any discussion with me - which was out on the street. I watched her drag my terrified dog into the surgery. She didn't make any attempt to allay her fear. I wasn't allowed to ask any questions. Disgusting.

Normally good but, Lack of communication and organisation between staff, I booked on for a certain time on a certain day for a service for my pet and arrived and was asked what I was there for as nothing was in the system. And they said that my appointment was 1 hour before I was there. Not to mention I received no confirmation email or text for my appointment and they said they normally do. Been there 4 times and never got that confirmation.
Then reception talked to the vet and then after the vet came to me asking me why I was there instead of asking the reception or staff what the appointment

Mill Lane have taken great care of our pets for years now. Josh and Sarah are both fabulous vets. They must have a new receptionist because the one I know has always been warm, welcoming and friendly and knew and loved the animals. The surgery has struggled during Covid as have all such services, but I have felt really grateful that both owners and staff were kept safe by their system of outdoor post-examination consults. I'm reading the recent reviews here and I wonder if some are related to the associate vet Anna, who is a little less sensitive in communication than Josh and Sarah. It's a different

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PUPPY HERE!
I took my doberman puppy to get checked the day after picking him up from the breeder. On arrival I was told to fill out a form which included filling out which breed the dog is.
Joshua told us the dog was fine and gave us worming to give the puppy. I felt he was thin but believed a vet would know best, and if the vet says he is healthy, you believe him. After giving the worming the puppy was shaking violently and had extremely bad Diarrhea all night. I took another look at him and decided despite Joshua saying he was healthy, this puppy was extremely underweight

I'd been going to Mill Lane Veterinary for a few years with my dog, they're fine with routine things but do not bring your pet here if it's urgent or if you pet is senior.
I brought my senior dog to them as she was in pain and had behavioural changes and was clearly distressed.
They did their investigation and advised me they didn't know what it was but just assumed it was dementia due to her age. They advised me that it would be pointless doing further referrals or investigations.
I asked the vet to send me a quick email regarding the investigation they'd done as they'd used terminology I didn
