Kevin Clifford established the Brompton Veterinary Clinic as an independent veterinary practice in the heart of Chelsea in 1993. Since then the clinic has flourished and Kevin and his team provide a comprehensive and caring service to pets and their owners. We look forward to welcoming you to the practice.
Services
Everyone at our practice is committed to providing you with the very best in pet healthcare. Our veterinary team bring a wealth of experience to the practice and have individually obtained high standards of professional qualification. Kevin has been a member of the Kennel Club for 25 years and was Chief Veterinary Surgeon to the annual Discover Dogs show at Earls Court for seven years.
The practice reception is staffed all day for clients to drop off and collect pets, collect medications and make enquiries, as well as purchase products. Our nurses are happy to provide a free nursing check for suture removals, dietary advice and weighing, clipping nails etc. This clinic runs every day except Wednesday between 2.30pm and 3pm but please try and book an appointment.
We strongly advise the vaccination of all puppies and adult dogs against the five serious infectious diseases. We also advise that all dogs who go to kennels or who are walked in a group of dogs are vaccinated against Kennel Cough. We can also now vaccinate dogs with the new Leishmania vaccine.
This is not necessary for dogs in the UK but Leishmania is a serious disease prevalent in the southern European countries (especially the South of France, Spain, Italy and Greece).Rabies vaccination is a requirement for all dogs travelling from the UK and we advise that you check with Kevin for the most up to date requirements for your travel plans, as these vary between countries and the regulations can change from time to time.

Unless you specifically want to breed from your pet we recommend that all cats and dogs are routinely neutered from six months of age. Please feel free to ask Kevin for advice at any time. Non-neutered females become restless and vocal whilst in season and indoor females will try to escape. Once outside, they will find a mate that is likely to be a stray cat, as nearly all pet male cats are neutered.
We have some particular issues in London. Foxes are becoming increasingly prevalent in London and carry Sarcoptic Mange; our milder winters allow fleas and even ticks to be active all year round and the Lungworm parasite is now being seen more frequently in the UK.
We therefore recommend that all adult dogs and outdoor cats are routinely wormed with a tablet, such as Milbemax, every 3 months, as recommended by the British Small Animal Veterinary Association.Outdoor cats should have regular flea control with a spot-on such as Frontline.

One of the worst customer services I’ve ever experienced. Terribly difficult to reach, consistently (and oftentimes deliberately) ignoring emails, phone backs. A simple but urgent matter of amending a pet passport vaccine record (which had been ommited on their part) took an absurd amount of time to resolve. Incredibly frustrating people to work with. Moving our dog to a different vet.
