I spend a week at the spa hotel over new year to get some r+r - it was lovely. Thank you to all the staff who made my stay so nice. Really grateful.
The hotel is well put together, and has had significant investment by the new owners since 2007. I had a big room (they upgraded me which was nice) which was furnished to a high spec. There was lots of little touches here and there which I appreciated. The spa and gym was great and I used it everyday.
My only issues were that the mattress wasn’t very good, the massage I had wasn’t either, and the pool is too small to swim lengths properly. The

The spa and treatment was lovely. Cannot fault the treatment as it was beautiful. Facilities were lovely and clean. Pillows were like tissue paper so i would recommend taking your own, although the bed was lovely. Vegan menu wasn't advertised so we had to go elsewhere for dinner , as 2 of our party was vegan, only to find in check out that there is a vegan menu, it just wasn't posted or advertised on website !!!
I had a very disturbed night and was unable to sleep due to constant noise. Sound proofing in the hotel is beyond awful, if even existent.! Sounded like someone was constantly running

Reception area is beautiful. Swift check in and lovely comfortable room with a very large bathroom. Everything clean and good biscuits with the coffee/tea facilities. Evening food was superb, good choice. Best steak hubby had ever had, so on his birthday, nice job! Service was a little hard to come by, but we weren't in a rush, so not a big issue. Breakfast was very good. Location to town makes it even better.

Great afternoon tea in the orangery. Good selection including tasty sandwiches, two types of scones and very varied pastries. Well worth the cost.

We stayed just for one night in a cosy double room.
The room was great with plenty of space and a good bathroom.
The pool area is really good although they had run out of towels when we arrived.
The staff are very good - particularly Reception staff... 10/10 here.
Breakfast was not so good. Limp fruit, burnt toast and a very questionable dollop of scrambled eggs meant that the experience wasn't great. The staff in the dining room were very good though. Maybe a new breakfast chef is required!
Would we stay again? Definitely. Lovely grounds, good price and great location. We'd have breakfast

We made a return visit to The Spa Hotel in Tunbridge Wells this week, after a long journey from the West Country. We called in for a light lunch.
We were directed to an airy orangery, which was laid out in an informal restaurant style. We both opted for salads - there was a choice of large or small portions and priced accordingly. We opted for small, but were amazed by how generous the meals were when they arrived. So much so we had to ask if the order was correct!
The dishes were well presented and particularly tasty. We rated the food highly and the staff were professional and friendly. The

After a disastrous attempt that resulted in a failed trip to Stockholm, we decided to run away to a find a nice spa and try to revive our weekend. We picked The Spa Hotel in Tunbridge Wells at it had availability and seemed to meet what we were looking for.

We enjoyed the afternoon using the facilities such as the pool and steam rooms. The hotel bar was nice and we had a very enjoyable lunch. I enjoyed a De Stressed massage, which left me exceptionally relaxed. The massage really set me off on a good note and I was looking forward to the rest of the stay. However, this is really were the good

With reference to an earlier review, DO NOT assume every room has been refurbished.

I stayed here on 7th April 2011 on the way back from Germany to Birmingham. It was an unusually warm period with temperatures in the area over 20 degrees C.
When we opened the door of our room (I think it was 201 or 203) at around 6pm we were greeted by an overpowering wall of heat and a not particularly attractive smell. The room was on the top floor and facing south so had been baked by the sun all day long and yet nobody had though to open any of the windows and no, there was no air con.
We couldn't open

This really is an attractive, quality hotel. Tunbridge Wells has two really top end places (the other being the boutique Hotel du Vin which has been heavily reviewed here on Qype) and this is the larger and more mainstream of the two. I think it is denoted a four star but I've been to worse five star places! Trained, professional staff, upmarket facilities, groovy bar, loads of conference rooms and excellent cuisine. I live too close to ever need to stay there but otherwise this is an absolute asset to TW.

Very well refurbished hotel.
This hotel is now a good 4 star and looking great - they have spent alot of money on it and the bedrooms are very well appointed. It has kept its traditional feel but with all the modern creature comforts!
The breakfast was great too in a beautiful very grand room. The hot breakfast was served to you - and not the buffet style which always gets coldthe scrambled eggs were great - always a good sign!!
The hotel is not centrally located and does not advertise to be - it is a nice 10 min walk downhill ( and my be 20 mins back up hill) to the Pantiles area of town
