I have been a driving instructor for nearly 30 years now and hold a grade' A' rating from the Driving Standards Agency and I am also CRB checked. It has been my privilege to teach students from all around the Garforth and surrounding areas which include. Kippax, Micklefield, Barwick in Elmet, Woodlesford, Colton, Halton, etc.
My wife and I moved to Garforth 36 years ago when we were first married and have brought our son up here where he attended first East Garforth primary and eventually Garforth Academy schools before graduating from Durham university. I am very proud of my instructional record, having taught for so long I am now teaching sons and daughters of parents whom I taught when they were young.

It is best to start learning for the theory test at the same time as you start your driving lessons. This means that the theory and the practical driving will complement eachother. You are able to understand the theory questions much easier in the light of your practical driving and vice versa. With each question there are several possible answers and you have to select the correct answer.
2. Tell me where you'd find the information for the recommended tyre pressures for this car and how tyre pressures should be checked. Manufacturer's guide, use a reliable pressure gauge, check and adjust pressures when tyres are cold, don't forget spare tyre, remember to refit valve caps. 3. Tell me how you make sure your head restraint is correctly adjusted so it provides the best protection in the event of a crash.
It is 35 years since I drove a car after failing my test and losing my confidence. I was very lucky to have Andy recommended to me. Andy is a very patient understanding instructor, when I made mistakes or found a manoeuvre difficult he would be calm and encouraging making me feel confident that I could overcome the problem.

Andy is an amazing driving instructor! He is very knowledgeable and his patience and understanding attitude makes it so much easier to learn. Always very friendly and reliable and the lessons were great every time. Andy is very supportive in making sure you are confident with your driving and gives you all the help and advice to not only pass your test but be a safe driver in the future. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn, extremely thankful for all his help!!

Andy is a great driving instructor from the very first lesson he has been consistently patient, kind and a great instructor. I have passed my test today ,first time, and I wouldn’t have done it without him. I highly recommend him he has been brilliant, despite the on and off lessons due to Covid, and he will be the first choice when my friends are looking for an excellent driving instructor.

Andy is an amazing instructor, he’s so patient and informative. He’s very calming and reassuring when you’re behind the wheel, as well as being a lovely person overall.
I was with an instructor prior to Andy who didn’t work for me, it made me worry about driving. But even just on my first lesson with Andy I felt so much more confident due to his professional approach and obvious knowledge of driving.
On the weeks coming up to my test he was very supportive and ensured that we covered all areas I felt I needed help on, as well as revisiting things he knew I needed to work on. Honestly

First time pass after Andy's friendly but professional lessons. Andy has a good sense of what pace lessons should run at.
I went into the test day feeling as confident as I could, which is testament to his ability to train confident drivers.
His experience as an instructor shows and is well worth every pound spent. I'd recommend him in a heartbeat.

Andy is an amazing driving instructor, he is an extremely patient and calm person. My lessons with Andy provided me with confidence and knowledge on driving itself and the driving test. I could not recommend him enough, his encouragement and support begins on your first lesson and continues to your test date. He understands that some people experience nerves before their driving test and helps you to overcome them. I am extremely grateful that Andy was my driving instructor.

Since the very start Andy has been an extremely patient, relaxed and very knowledgeable instructor to learn to drive with. He had no problems with me asking lots of questions (in fact he was happy that I asked so many) and his car is very learner friendly! Fantastic instructor, I passed first time and I would recommend Andy to anyone wanting to to learn in the area!

Well what can I say. Most people will only go through one driving instructor, so you've got to make sure they are right for you. Andy is calm and very helpful when learning to drive. He makes you feel less nervous and more relaxed. He ensures that you are perfectly confident to pass your test. I managed it first time with 0 driving faults. His car is very easy to learn in. Thanks Andy you've been great !

Andy is always so calm and friendly. i was so nervous when i started and he just made me feel so comfortable. such a nice man. As well as that he is a fantastic instructor, goes through everything thoroughly and just makes you feel confident and always reassures you. i had a nightmare lesson before my test and he reassured me that i was capable and i went on and passed first time. if you're looking for an instructor then Andy is the one you want!
