Marton Arms
Nestled in the picturesque hamlet of Thornton in Lonsdale, just outside Ingleton in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park, The Marton Arms is everything a country inn should be; welcoming, family friendly, open to dogs and muddy boots and serves great value, delicious food.

An independently owned freehouse, you'll find warm hospitality, home-cooked food, comfortable accommodation and a relaxed atmosphere, whether you're joining us for a holiday, dining with us for a meal or just dropping in for a drink and a chat at the bar while you're out walking or cycling with family and friends.Just relax here with us here in the garden or by the fire.
Services
Strong advocates of 'field to fork' fayre, our talented chef and friendly team take pride in serving sustainably reared neighbouring farm produce with 100% local provenance. We're pretty serious about drink too, offering 60+ gins for you to try, hand pulled cask ales, fine wines and a good range of non-alcoholic options for the driver.
Travellers have been resting their weary heads here since 1679, but possibly not with quite as many luxuries as we provide today. Comfort and cleanliness are assured in all our rooms, along with peace and quiet away from the public areas, so you can enjoy a relaxing night's sleep every night you stay with us.
The Marton Arms is an ideal base in The Three Peaks to explore perfect countryside for walking, cycling by road or mountain bike, caving, climbing and more. Simply enjoy the peace and fresh air with only the cries of the curlews and the lambs calling for their mothers as your soundtrack for a perfect detox.

Love this place. The owners and staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is one of the best I've had. Had evening meal of steak and ale pie which was lovely. Very relaxed atmosphere. Only downside, the rooms need updating but are clean and comfortable, doesn't stop us wanting to return. Thank you

Lovely meal with excellent service. The Marton Arms is an iconic old building with super thick walls (a legacy of when it was built, 1679) and very atmospheric. Recently renovated without spoiling the feel of the place. Recommended by my brother and now I know why.

Stayed one night here. Had a superb dinner for extremely good value. The breakfast was generous and delish too. However, hope the future renovations will include the rooms as those desperately need upgrading!

Fantastic service. The team went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. After completing the 3 peak challenge, we arrived at the hotel at around 7pm to check in but forgot to book a table in the restaurant. It was already fully booked however Michael managed to squeeze us in.
