Rapid pass driving centre is a family run driving school formed in 2002 by Dennis Barratt and his wife Kathy. This followed Dennis' departure from a successful local driving school that he had joined in 1994. The hope was to take the skills he had learnt from the previous 8 years of experience in the industry and build a school of his own, with the help of his family.
At Rapid Pass Driving Centre, we pride ourselves on being a quality driving school with sessions available at affordable prices. All drivers learn at their own pace, so we tailor our course plans to suit your needs and schedule; from one hour-long lesson each week, to fully intensive courses, many of our drivers work 7 days a week to fit our lessons in around your commitments.

DO NOT USE!! My sister in law had an awful experience with an instructor called Denis. On approaching a roundabout he asked her to carry straight on, she mistakenly signaled right and as she was committed to and in the process of turning right, he without warning, attempted to take control of the steering wheel to correct this. By doing so the vehicle lost control and hit a road sign. After this incident, he proportioned blame on her and using foul language berated her in what I consider to be a bullying manner. He clearly has no patience nor professionalism and shouldn't be instructing people

Backstory: I received a text message from the office at 8:30pm saying that I would have to move my test date as 3 weeks and 20 hours booked in was not enough?
Id been told by an instructor before that I was a few hours from being test ready as I’d completed almost all maneuvers yet rapid pass refused to do any of the lessons I’d booked with their reason being that I’d cancelled a lesson the week before.
Looks like they either double booked or trying to scam me out of more money. Absolute disgrace.

Saw a comment about rudeness and muttering if you made mistakes, found this to be very true. Bear in mind this was only my 3rd lesson (never driven before, not familiar with roads).This instructor made me drive on an 'unfamiliar route' to him, then proceeded to give me WRONG instructions about the road, and as I got confused and started to make more mistakes, he got angry and shouted (also muttered under his breath somethings as this was happening). I think he felt guilty after and proceeded to insult another student driver's terrible driving as if that would make me feel better. I thought I was

I passed my driving test first time after doing lessons with Gary. He was an amazing instructor from start to finish. My lessons were stopped twice due to the lockdowns and I often felt I had gone backwards, but Gary was patient and professional and helped me get straight back into it. He handled my nerves and frustration really well and that's exactly what I needed, someone easy to get along with and have a laugh but was focused on my learning. I would definitely recommend, especially if your a nervous driver like me! Thanks Gary, you are a legend!

Absolutely fantastic service. Dennis worked around my schedule from day one and always made himself available when he could so that I didn't have to take too much time off work. Such a kind person and fantastically patient instructor. A personalised kind and uplifting service you won't get better than these guys. Thank you so much for all the time and effort it's so appreciated and I passed my driving test on Saturday!

Had an excellent driving experience with Gary as my Instructor. Very friendly and an amazing teacher! I would highly recommend this driving school and especially Gary to anybody wanting to learn how to drive. With the whole lockdown situation it has been quite challenging, yet despite this Gary still managed to ensure that we get the experience we need. 5* from me, only downside he’s a Man utd supporter.

I recommend this company to anyone! Dennis is a brilliant instructor and did everything he could to get me ready for my test. He was patient and had a great approach when it came to calming my nerves and bringing me back down to earth. I passed first time after 2 months and I couldn't have done it without Dennis.
