Passed first time!.can't believe it! Neither can Mum and Dad. A massive Thank-you for expertly guiding me through the entire process of learning to drive. No fuss and no panic! Also appreciated your flexibility regarding pickups and drop offs. Really helped out. I will certainly be recommending you to all my friends.
Check out these Learning Resources pages and use the Driving Organisations pages, you never know when you'll find them useful. To become a full British licence holder you need to pass the theory test (both the questions and hazard perception) and of course the practical Driving Test. You may find the following links helpful when thinking about choosing your Driving Instructor.
The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) and the driving instruction industry place great emphasis on professional standards and business ethics. This code of practice has been agreed between DSA and the bodies representing ADIs listed at the end of this document. It is a framework within which all instructors should operate.
Since 1996, learner drivers and riders have to pass a theory test before booking a practical driving test. The test covers all aspects of driving theory such as attitude, safety, handling, rules of the road, traffic and road signs and so on. There are separate tests for all types of vehicle - cars, motorcycles, large goods vehicles and passenger carrying vehicles.
The DSA driving test is designed to check if you can safely drive on the road unaided and also have good knowledge of the Highway Code. This is done by reading a number plate at a distance of 20 meters or 20.5 meters depending whether it is an old or new style number plate. If you fail to read it the test will NOT go ahead.
